People who break into other people’s car during the holidays should get a big fat lump of coal for Christmas!
Yesterday, my car was broken into and thankfully, nothing was damaged. They did manage to get away with $200 in gift certificates that I was going to use for my bridal hair and make up.
Now, I haz a sad 🙁
Anyways, Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh no! I’m so sorry. Does your insurance cover theft?

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: Yes it does however, I can’t justify making a claim because my insurance will increase

Yeah that’s true. That really sucks though!

Ugh. my car got broken into on New Years Eve a few winters ago. Smashed out the window, stole the radio- which was the only good thing in the car.

My car was broken into. Someone stole my Taser and walking shoes. WTF!?

My car window was smashed in last Easter Sunday. The guy tried to get away with a flat iron and my sports bra.
I went through my car insurance to have the window repaired and my premium didn’t increase.
I am so sorry that happened to you; it’s such a horrible feeling when your property has been violated.

A few years ago we were living in Detroit and our car was hit 3 times in 6 months. The first time they broke the passenger window (day before thanksgiving), stole my husband’s tennis equipment (he was a tennis pro- his rackets were worth a lot of money), opened the bag of kitty litter we kept in the trunk and dumped it all over 😛

@Applestar13: I feel your pain! Some teens broke into my car last Christmas and stole my iPod and my GPS. I was so upset! It can feel very violating, I’m sorry!!
@Miss Tattoo: What??? They stole your taser gun and walking shoes? Seriously? That is crazy!

Crazy people! Why can’t they leave other people’s stuff alone :p
@Miss Tattoo: They stole the taser to tase anyone following them and they stole walking shoes to wear and walk away with :/

Bummer! Sorry to hear that. I remember being a young teen and our family was living paycheck to paycheck. The thieves broke into the trunk of our jalopy car and stole all of our Christmas presents while we were Christmas shopping downtown. My mom was pretty devastated and explained we wouldn’t have much of a Christmas that year. She ended up somehow replacing some of our gifts within a few days. The car was parked right in front of glass windows where we shopped. So they pretty much stole from under our noses.

Not the same as getting broken into, but over the summer my car was doused with red and black paint. It was a random act because a couple of days later, another car in the neighborhood experienced the same. We filed a claim with our insurance company and they replaced all the glass, the emblem, rubber fixtures around the door and windows, and repainted the entire car. It was a $6,500 repair job for a $250 insurance premium. Not a bad deal, now my car is good as new again.
For a long time, we parked my car in the garage and my FI’s car outside hoping that it would get doused. He wanted a new paint job too!

I hate being robbed. I also hate pointless crimes. I used to drive a mustang, and it would get vandalized. :/ I hated it especially because the people that did it did not get anything out of trashing my car.
