So, I recently turned 30 and our 5 year anniversary is in a few onths, so after hubby asked what I would like I figured a pink moissanite solitiare wold be the ultimate gift! Seeing as we dont have millions of dollars lying around a pink diamond is never going to happen, and after hearing that sapphires dirty easily, morganite is easily damaged I thought a moissanite would be the best option. I have never seen on in real life pink or white, so I have some questions to any of you that happen to own one. Oh and of course would love to see some photos too!
Is it sparkly? Under all lighting? I would prefer any stone over a diamond if it meant i would get more sparkle, but I dont know if pink moissanites fit the bill.
Does it get dirty easily? I liked the idea of a pink sapphire until i found out that they get dirty really fast 🙁
Has the pink coating ever gotten damaged? I read that under high temps it can but have no idea under what circumstances this could happen, resizing? Cleaning? No clue!
Are there different shades of pink? Im pink obsessed so really any pink will do but i dont know if there are options.
Would a 2-3 carat solitaire look ridiculous? I figure why not but do you think it would look silly?
Where did you buy yours? Im thinking moissanite co. Im in Australia so would probably want ot go with someone well known.
Any thing else I should know?
Im thinking of getting a round cut set in a 6 prong white gold setting 🙂
Lol sorry for all the Q’s just really warey of buying a stone Ive never seen IRL!!

Woops forgot to ask, can you get the pink stone upgraded to forever brilliant?

Ok I’ll take a stab at answering some of your questions – I don’t have a pink moissanite, but I have done some reasearch into buying one – as I’m considering it as an engagment ring… I’m not 100% onboard with the diamond thing – but that’s just me. I would be buying mine from Schubach –
From what I understand – they don’t use the forever brilliant stones for the pink ones – they told me that it won’t make a difference becase of the coating they are putting on. I asked about the coating and how long it lasts and can it be damanged etc. I was told that they haven’t been doing the coating for very long (~8 years), so it’s hard to say. But from their experience they have only had issues with a couple (and Schubach will warranty the stone for any issues). I think it is sparkly under all lighting, but I haven’t seen it in real life. I’m planning to order one to take a look at. There are definitely slight variations in the shades of pink – so some can be more pink and some more peachy or barely pink at all.
It’s funny you ask about size – I was saying to Beth (customer service) – that I feel like anything over 2 carat would be too big for me – and I was asking her opinion about it, and she told me she has a 6 carat – LOL – so it’s really all about personal preference and style. 🙂
I hope I’ve maybe been a little bit helpful! I will definitely say that the customer service I’ve experienced to date at Schubach’s has been amazing. They’re great with e-mail as well. 🙂 Good Luck!

Is it sparkly? Under all lighting?: Yes, extremely sparkly, just like regular moissanite but with more pink flashes.
Does it get dirty easily?: No, it stays clean for a very long time. You’ll never find yourself needing to clean it to get back the sparkle. I feel like it’s even better than my diamond.
Has the pink coating ever gotten damaged?: You really can’t damage the color. It’s very permanent.
Are there different shades of pink?: There are different shades, but they aren’t as varried as they used to be. Peachy pink and a very light faded pink that Schubach offers are the two that are easy to purchase right now.
Would a 2-3 carat solitaire look ridiculous?: That one is completely up to you. If you want it then rock it.
The Forever Brilliant option is for whitening, so it wouldn’t apply to pink moissanite. If you want the stone pink then you won’t want it whiter.

Thanks for the input but it looks like i wont be getting a pink moissy, Im just to worried that if i need to have it repaired or resized in the future it might be damaged by the heating 🙁 so dissapointing…
