🙁 That’s horrible! Any chance of the delivery company paying out because they messed up by leaving it (especially if it was sent such that it needed a signature to be delivered?) I really hope the driver just messed up with marking it as delivered, and it shows up soon.

He shouldn’t have just left it – I would call the delivery company and complain.

That sucks so bad =( People are just awful.

Someone stole my bed when it was delivered. Yep. A bed. It was delivered while I was at work and the guy left it even though it was supposed to have a signature. I came home only to find the slats (I think thats what they’re called) left, I checked it online and it said it was delievered. It took months to get a new one sent to me.

I thought this happened to me last week because my camera said it was delivered at 1:26pm Tuesday but it wasn’t there so I was freaking out! I decided to give it another day just to be sure they didn’t forget it in the truck or something and still no camera. So the next day I was planning to call UPS but it was out there! It was supposed to be signed for but they just left it in our public hallway. It was just late not stolen but I was still furious they just left it!

Yeah-I’ve had things show delivered when they hadn’t been. It seems like it’s mostly things  (for whatever reason) where the delivery starts with UPS or FedEx and the final delivery company is the USPS. Anyway, the original carrier shows it as delivered when they leave it with the post office, even tho it isn’t delivered to you yet. They’ve just delivered it to their final destination.

Hopefully something like this happened to you and it will show up. ANd, as someone else mentioned, sometimes the company he bought it from will replace it. If not, does he have renters insurance? That might cover the loss.

Call the company and explain to them what happened.  They’ll probably have you call the delivery company.  This has happened to me before with a package that required signature (some stranger actually signed for the package) and the company replaced the order.

If this works out for you guys and they will replace it see if you can have it shipped somewhere else like a friend or family member’s home or even to work.

How horrible!  Nothing like that has happened to me but I also live in a sketchy neighborhood.  Luckily our end of the block is ok but if you go up the street there are some weird people.  I’m constantly paranoid that the stuff I have delivered right now will end up being taken but so far nothing like that has happened.

I was going to bring up renters insurance as well.  It most likely covers this sort of thing.

Was it purchased via PayPal, a credit card, or a debit card? I’m not 100% but I believe you can report it to them too!

@musician32992:  I think it is the seller’s responsibility to make sure the package gets delivered to you. Dumped on your doorstep does not qualify as delivery. Do you know what website he used to buy the necklace?

Check to make sure it wasn’t delivered to a neighbor! A few months ago we bought some new generators, totalling well over $1500.. and they delivered it to the wrong address. Thankfully our neighbor (who we never even met before) was honest and let us know.. but we were SO angry. I hope the necklace turns up! 🙁

do not give up hope yet…..i have had at least 2 packages go missing and it has always been resolved by seller (total refund for one and reship for another)

it might not hurt to ask a few.neighbors too bc sometimes they leave stuff w my neighbor and dont tell me so when i get home and there is no package i am like ???? till i see my neighbor like 3days later and they remember that box sitting in the porch that they swore the wife told me about

That sucks! I’m lucky I’m able to have items shipped to my place of work. I do that if the package isn’t too large.

I had a package shipped to my house a few weeks ago from Walmart.com. I ordered a Wii and a Blu Ray on Cyber Monday sales from Walmart.com. When the package arrived and my SO got home, the blu ray player was on top of the Walmart box, out of the box, when he lifted the blu ray, the package box was opened…luckily both were still there.
