and I didn’t notice!
I was always one of those people who answered in posts that I would be upset if someone wore white to my wedding but I didn’t even notice the day of! It was one of DH’s cousins (23 years old) so it wasn’t someone hid away in the corner, it was someone I was dancing with and talking to for part of the night. I didn’t notice until I watched our wedding video today and realized that she wore a long, completely white, lace dress to the wedding.
I guess what all the bees say about just not noticing because you are so happy is true! Even after seeing the video I just giggled and shook my head and thought that she probably just didn’t even think about it/know any better.

Glad you had such a good reaction to it! My husbands cousins both wore white flows dresses to my wedding but I figured they probably didn’t know you weren’t meant to do it so I got over it pretty quick hahahaha on the day I was just happy to be married 🙂

@MrsBeck: I was expecting to see a rant! lol I am glad it did not bother you. I have no idea what any of my guests wore either lol.

@MrsBeck: lol my aunt did apparently. i didn’t notice until i saw pics. not that i would’ve cared if i had noticed

@MrsBeck: This gets me thinking… As of now whenever I hear about women wearing white to a wedding (especially long and/or lace gowns) all I can think is “Oh Hell NO!” haha. So perhaps I would actually react as you did – not even notice. I guess in life there are many things you think you know how you will react to it, but until it happens you never know exactly how you will react – whether positive or negative.

@MrsBeck: Would you have noticed or would it have made a difference if the girl wasn’t someone you knew and liked?
I was a BM in a wedding last year where the bride was LIVID that a girl was wearing a white satiny dress to the wedding. (Where does one find a white satiny dress that is NOT a wedding dress anyway???) It was a date of one of the groom’s friends. The bride wanted to throw her out of the wedding!

I wore an ivory dress and the top of my MIL’s dress was ivory while the bottom was black. Ehhh. /: Not much I can do now, though.

i wore a cream colored short dress to my cousins wedding but the dress had a nice black border print at the bottom it had black straps under the ruced boddice there was a black band and i wore a black bolero so it offset the dress and was not totaly white i asked many people if they thought it would be rude but the said since the dress had plenty of black in it i was ok.

@Charlie89: Same here- I was just so happy! Not sure how people don’t know that as I knew that even before the bee!
@pinksprinkles: That was always my thinking before I was married. I would always get angry just thinking about it! Then even after I realized it happened at my wedding I just didn’t care 🙂
@asianyoushi: *sigh* some people just don’t think :/ TBH it didn’t really surprise me that she wore it. Not because she is mean or anything but she is rather clueless lol
@Bazingau: That’s a good question… I don’t think it would (although before my wedding I would have said it would bother me). Before I always thought that people wore white for attention but after seeing some of the guest’s clothing at my wedding there are definitely other outfits to wear if they want attention! So now my train of thought is that they just are really really clueless. Hmmm satiny seems a bit worse than lace! At least the lace dress was something you would find at a normal department store but like you said- where do you even find a satiny white dress!?

@MrsBeck: i have no idea if she is clue less or what.. she didnt speak to me at my wedding or at the memorial. i was hearing she was engaged through members of the family squeeling in joy… really the wrong type of setting to be doing that… most of the family were all focused on her …

The last wedding I was at, three women wore white. Not white with a pattern, pure white. No one noticed, no one cared.

I accidentally wore white to my cousins wedding(more of an off white and it was short and more “clubby”) and it was the only dress that fit me then. And she told my aunt to tell me that since I did that she was wearing her wedding dress to my wedding! Lol I was like ok? She’s gonna be the one looking a fool then! And I was tempted to dress my bridesmaids in white to spite her! L

Haha, I’m not even wearing white to my OWN wedding so I don’t think I’d care 😉 My dress is pale yellow!
I’m glad to hear you had such a wonderful time that nothing could faze you! 🙂
