I got a grossgrain ribbon embroidered with my name and FI's name and wedding date in blue. I'm having it sewn to the inside of my gown!
My fiance is obsessed with the Atlanta Braves so I'm having a blue Braves themed garter. He'll love it!
While my mother and I were pondering wedding ideas, she suggested that my shoes be the "something blue". (Yay, MightySapphire!) I was actually keen on the idea of a wedding dress with blue accents, but I checked again with her, and she seemed to expect me to wear all white. Huh.
Thanks to lovelerae for providing me with an idea on what I could use if my fiancé insists on doing the garter thing.
As an encore bride who wore white the first time I was hoping for a subtle Tiffany Blue dress... not sure if that will happen though, can't find the right one. I may settle for ivory, in which case I'll have sparkly blue jewels, and perhaps a Tiffany Blue ribbon wrapped bouquet...
Another tradition I've seen that is great is incorporating a small flower called a bachelor button... sometimes it's worked into the brides flowers or grooms boutineer as a final good bye to his single days.
I'm getting this brooch from Jean M - and I'm going to have it on a ribbon dangling from my bouquet and then pin it under my dress (so it doesn't ruin my dress fabric) at the reception.

Beachy I just googled that bachlor button -- what a cute idea!!
I was thinking about having him do somethign old, new, borrowed, and blue too, what a perfect idea!
old: heirloom turquoise jewelry
new: dress
borrowed: diamond ring from my mom
blue: turquoise jewelry, turkish evil eye charm in my bouquet, and a garter made out of the blue bridesmaids dress I wore at my sister's wedding!
Ooh... I like the undie idea.
I think I am going to do the blue studded rhinestone initials and date on the bottom of my shoes.
I found blue rhinestone letters that say I and Do. They go on the bottom of your shoes, not the part you walk on but the arch. soo cute. I love them!
for those of you looking for bachelor's button flowers, they can be easier to find if you search for cornflower- justy an FYI!
