My favourite earrings are a pair of lovely blue earrings from Ten Thousand Villages, one of my favourite stores (http://www.tenthousandvillages.com). I was considering them for my something Blue. The metal around the blue stones is silver, as you can see in the photos I’ll include below.
I was planning on wearing my great grandmother’s gold cuff bracelet as my Something Old (it’s pretty sentimental, as it’s one of the pieces of jewlry my mom gave me before she died and it’s what my great grandfather used in place of a wedding band), but I’m not certain on that or not, and my engagement ring is also gold (though I’m going to have to eventually have it reset and I’m debating with what type of metal to go with, so in the next year it may not be gold).
Basically, do you think that wearing different colored metals clashes?
Also, if you can even tell, do you think my skin tone would be better with silver or gold? Because I keep switching back and forth o_____O
Bracelet (holy sunburnt arm):
And, uh, dress (because what the hell :P):

@Vidya: I think your skintone goes best with gold.
Although I love that shade of blue, and I love white metals, personally, I would not wear those earrings as part of your bridal jewelry. However, there’s nothing that says that you cannot buy them and wear them any other time, perhaps to your rehearsal dinner or your bridal shower.

I really do like all of those together. If that’s what you want to wear, that’s what you should wear. I honestly don’t think anyone would complain about seeing gold and silver together on one person unless it was specifically brought to their attention. I wear yellow gold jewelry with my standard white gold ring/earrings all the time, and aside from compliments, no one has ever said a word.

Those earrings are awesome, but they’re also super casual. Have you thought about something like this?
Berricle is having a sale right now, so these would be 20% off, to boot. Also, since they’re mostly rhinestone, you wouldn’t have the whole mixing-silver-and-gold concern as much, either.
