I think that's a wonderful and special way to both honor your grandmother and fill the space of your engagement ring.
I audibly gasped the other day when I read your story about what happened to you, btw. I'm so sorry!
I think that's a really great way to turn a sucky situation into something special and memorable...Wearing your grandmother's diamonds will have a lot of significance for you, I'm sure, sooooo glad you were able to recover from the HORROR of what happened to your e-ring!
i think that's a wonderful gift and makes it even more special to your brother's future wife.
I would be so honored to wear that ring if I was your younger brother's FI! What a neat way to join the family :)
How creative of your parents, too. Does your brother have a say in the new setting of the diamonds?
Gosh sorry to hear about the ring! I agree with the other's that it will be a nice way to remember your grandma.
That sounds really nice. I wore my grandmother's rings at my wedding.
I think that will be great! Plus you can wear that till your other ring gets fixed
I think its a great idea and not only will it be your something borrowed and/or old, but it is a great way to remember your Nana!
yay, this post makes me so happy! I coudl just hear your heart breaking with your engagement ring. Life threw you lemons and now you have lemonade =]. It'll be a good story =]
That sounds great!! I was so sad when I read what happened to your ring! I am in Boston too, so all I kept thinking is "how can I help from here??" But I don't think there is anything I could have done. (But of course, if there is, let me know!)
What a wonderful idea! What a creative and special "something borrowed".
I love this idea such a great twist in your misfortune...it will have so much meaning to have your grandmas diamonds and it will mean so much to your future brothers wife!
I think that would be a wonderful solution to your ring crisis. A very sweet "something borrowed". :)
What a great idea! It's kind of borrowed, old, and new all at once!
What a wonderful solution. Something as a tribute and you can take the proper time to have your ring fixed. :)

So some of you have read about my recent ring crisis.
Well it's looking like the ring will not be fixed in time for the wedding. So my mom called me today with a plan. My parents have my Nana's engagement ring (she passed when I was a baby) and they were planning on giving it to my younger brother one day if he gets engaged and wants to use it. Because it appears I will be ringless walking down the aisle, my dad has decided to get the diamonds from my nana's engagement ring reset (they would have to be anyway as the band is all bent) into white gold so I have a ring to wear on my wedding day.
Pretty interesting something borrowed huh? My younger brother's future engagement ring! Thank god he doesnt't currently have a girlfriend otherwise that might be kind of awkward at the wedding.
