Debating a few "extra" ideas for the reception. As a guest at a wedding, would you rather have a retro soda bar (think colorful Jones sodas, root beer floats and candy sip straws) or a candy buffet, Sweet-Factory style where the candy serves as favors?

I think the candy bar is over done. That is my own personal opinion and I'm not knocking anyone who does it. I guess I'm not really an avid candy eater, so maybe that is why I don't see the appeal. The soda bar is really unique and I bet your guests would be talking about it for a long time :)

I'm getting a little tired of it, too.  Someone made a suggestion of a punch bar in another thread, and I thought that was pretty awesome.   In fact, I stole the idea!. Herbed Lemonade, Sparkling Blackberry Cooler, Minted Watermelon, Honeydew Chill, Tangerine Dream (the drink, not the band :)

I did old bottled sodas in a red wheelbarrow full of ice and people loved it!

This place specializes in Retro Sodas.  They even carry Moxie and Filbert's.

I voted candy bar. I have yet to go to a wedding that has one (even though I know they are getting pretty popular in Australia) and I'm not much of a soda drinker (just water and wine, mostly!) But I think either would go down well with most guests.

I live in NY and I've never been to a wedding that has a candy buffet either.

I'd rather see the float bar as a guest. Plus, the floats can be made with any flavor of diet soda and candy buffets don't work with diabetics (if you have any in your guest list).

Mmm they both sound good to a girl on a diet.

I think the soda bar sounds alot more unique, but personally I'd like the candy as I only like coke cola, I hate all other flavors. But I love most candy.

As much as I like the uniqueness of the soda bar, I absolutely hate soda!  I think I'm in a growing number of the population to, or at least that's the way it seems from my observations.  I don't know for sure!   So I vote candy bar,  even though I liked your creative thinking.
