We are all having a great time venting over on this thread. But how about some love, eh? What positive things do you want to say to someone right now? (Answer regardless of whether you can actually say that thing or not---and if you can say that thing, go say it!)
Here's mine:
Dear husband,
Thanks for cooking dinner without my even asking, two nights in a row. I feel so taken care of!
Love,
Your wifey-poo
dear w'bees....
on that other thread i was so sad for some of you, the pressure and disappointment some of you are suffering is heartbreaking so im sending you all a hug and positive vibes because you deserve it!
from,
To my future husband,
Thanks for trying to make me happy when I'm blue. For taking on wedding details when I feel overwhelmed. For offering to do my hair when I have bad hair days. Even though I don't trust you with my hair, I love you for trying. :)
Weeebs
To my parents,
YOU ROCK. Simply put, you are the best parents I could ever ask for. Your generosity blows me away every day. And not just the physical gifts... but your mental and emotional generosity and your unconditional love. So many people have problems with their parents. I can't believe how lucky I am to have you both.
Love,
Your forever grateful daughter
To my husband,
You & me, kid. I love you forever. Thanks for making me laugh when I don't want to. Thanks for supporting me in everything I do. Thanks for loving me for who I am. Thanks for never giving up on me, and teaching me more about myself every day.
Love,
Your wife
PS- FUN POST! I love the positivity!!!!!
To My Parents,
Thanks for the spontaneous surprise visit and taking me out to dessert! You make me feel loved!
Love,
Your Daughter
To my future Husband:
Thank you for always supporting me. Thank you for loving even when I am having my difficult moments. And thanks for being interested in the planning--I love when you say "Any new wedding pictures or magazines to show me?"
You are wonderful and I love you.
To my parents:
Thank you for being so supportive of me. I was surprised by the level your excitement over my engagement and the planning, but I was so happy. Thank you offering to help pay for some of the wedding, when you are already paying for school. Thank you for welcoming J into the family. He truly thinks of you as his parents. And in general, thank you for giving me the kind of life you have given me. You have taught me great values and have given me the most wonderful childhood memories. You are what I hope to be as a parent.
You are the best example of a marraige. I hope I can be in the same position as you in 25 years.
I love you guys.
To FMIL:
Thank you SO SO much for not being crazy. Thank you for welcoming me into your family. Thank you for raising an amazing son (and daughter, I love her, too). Thank you for showing me what a healthy marriage looks like. I appreciate all of it more than you will ever know.
-Em
ps...still have to hit up that venting thread. I'm so late to the party on that one.
To my mother,
You are AMAZING! Thank you for taking on another job the past few months...and by that I mean helping me plan my wedding! Thank you for being with me every step of the way, even when it is over the phone, to help me decide. Thank you for knowing me well enough to know when I'm SURE about my dress, not so sure about centerpieces, and confused about save-the-dates and helping me speak up for myself about it! Thank you for loving me and Stephan, never oversteping your bounds but coming right to the edge with applebees gift cards and encouraging phone calls. Thank you for being normal and acting cheery and normal to all people involved in the wedding...not a MOBzilla.
Thank you for all the things along the way leading up to this...
and all the help I know you'll still give after (don't worry, after the wedding you KNOW I'll be obsessing about moving, my job, babies, etc...we arn't done yet!! :P )
Love you so,
Me :)
To my future hubby,
I love you. Hurry home. I made pasta shells with cheese. Want to get some nice wine that we should NEVER drink with macaroni?
Love you,
Love me
Future Family,
Thanks for being the most supportive, loving family! You guys are everything I have dreamed of and I love you each so much!
FMIL
Thanks for being an amazing mom to me!
Dear Future Hubby,
Thanks for always fighting with me and loving me. For soft kisses on my forehead. For understanding me better then I do myself. So loving me through thick and thin. Thanks for always wanted to provide for me!
Dear mom,
Thanks for planning most of my wedding. You did an amazing job!
Love,
Your favorite eldest daughter
To my fabulous friends-
Thank you so much for being there for me through everything and being the best group of gals a girl could ask for! And thank you for planning what I am sure will be a fabulous girls weekend and coming from all over the country to celebrate. I can't wait (even though it's a few months away) and I miss you guys!
To my corazon-
Gracias por caminar con Frieda. Estas mi todo. Te amo.
To Mom:
Thank you for being the only one to be interested in the wedding without trying to hijack it and make it your own. I really appreciate your love and support.
Love,
Me
To Dad:
Wish you were here.
Love,
Me
To FI:
Thank you, in the biggest sense of those words.
Love,
Me
Dear husband,
I miss you so much every night that you're gone from me. I can't wait until I get to sleep in your arms on a regular basis (although no guarantees that halfway through the night I won't push you away!). You and God are the only reasons I am sane right now, and I cannot believe how much more I love you than I did only 9 months ago at our wedding. This may be the "worse", "poorer", and "sickness" part of our marriage, but with you I feel better, richer, and healthier than I ever did before. I love you.
--your wife
Dear baby,
Grow fast. Stop kicking me so hard. Don't come till it's time but don't mess around either. I have never been so excited and so terrified to meet someone in my entire life. Love you more than can even understand.
-- mom
Dear MIL,
I love you so much. Thank you for being my second mom. I know I'm being selfish, but please do chemo, unless they tell you it would hurt more than help. Please please please.
--your DIL
To my dear friend:
Thank you for dropping everything for me just because I needed you. I've not always been the best friend, but you've always been there for me. I'm kind of sad that marriage is going to change our relationship. BUT we're timeless friends. We may not talk as much, due to our busy scheduls, but when we reconnect it feels like we haven't missed a thing!
I love you. I appreciate you. You're a wonderful human being!
Blessings,
Rebekah
@eloping: I agree whole heartedly. My heart aches for some of the wbees... ((hugs)) to the hive!
Dear Raymond:
You've been my best friend forever. Please get well. Lynneea needs you at her wedding. I need you at her wedding (remember how much fun Shawns wedding was when we kept getting lost and in trouble).
As you lay in that hospital bed they don't know who you are or how smart/funny/ capable you are. Surprise them. Come back to us.
Just because I have David doesn't mean I don't still need my best friend. I am not ready to lose you. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT...
I love you
Dear Hubby,
Thank you so very much for building a beautiful home for us, you are the best!
Love,
Me
To FMIL/FSIL/FFIL/FBIL -
Thank you for accepting me into the family with such open arms and having that perfect balance of gentle, genuine caring. I thought I was the luckiest girl ever when I met FH, but I now realize I AM the luckiest girl having you all as my new family.
To FH -
You are absolutely the best. You're away right now on a business trip, and I miss you terribly! Thank you for leaving me numerous notes hidden all over the house to make me laugh and to help with my loneliness. You are absolutely the best...wait, I said that already...well, I can't say it enough! Love you.
@Chelseamorning - So glad for this thread. Thank you for starting this!
Dear FI,
When I called you tonight and you were already asleep, I was disappointed, but sometimes I am grateful for our long distance relationship, because I get to hear you say in your sleepy voice -- "I miss you so much, baby", and I melt.
I love you!
To my Brother,
Who though he would never say the words in a million years showed just how much he loves me by letting his 10 year old daughter fly half way around the world with her Grandma just to be in my Wedding. And paying for both airfares.
Because he understands that Aunts & Neices can have special bonds that often get overlooked and how much it would mean to me to have both of them here for the big day.
He would never say it and deny it if asked but I know he loves me because action speak louder than words.
Right back at you lumpy.
wwax
To my Mum,
For understanding that your heart can take you to the other side of the planet and for letting me go with nothing but good grace, even if it means she has to live all alone for the first time in her life at the age of 68. It was only after I left that she realised how much fun it was. *grins*
wwax
Dear Future Husband,
I think it is so adorable that you're excited about me having your babies. I also am glad that you are not upset that I want to wait to have children because we're both going to grad school.
I can't wait to have your babies.
Love,
Lauren
P.S. Let's practice later. Kthx. :p
lol @ fiftyfoot. this thread is not as much fun as the other thread............
Dear Sister,
I miss you a lot. Even more than I miss mom and dad (but don't tell them). I wish we had spent more time together when i was still living at home, but I'm so excited for you to visit in a couple months.
Marriage is really great, but don't rush it. He will propose when he's ready and it won't be a minute too late or too soon. I promise.
love,
your big sis
Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you for teaching me the most valuable life lessons, even when they were tough to learn. Thank you for not being "fair". Thank you for being sensible. Thank you for not being perfect, but always apologizing when you made mistakes. It has helped me to apologize, even when I know I am only half the problem.
Thank you for living a life of service and love, and for introducing me the Reason you have to be so selfless.
Love,
your eldest daughter
Dear FI,
Thank you for leaving your office and going back to our apartment to retrace my steps from the apartment to the car because one of the earrings you bought me in Providence (which you know are my favorite pair) fell out somewhere while I was leaving for work. Thank you for saying you will buy me a million pairs of earrings over the course of our life together when I was crying on my cell phone to you in the car on the way to work. Thank you also for asking the NYC sanitation man sweeping the street if he'd seen an earring and trying to describe it to him though he spoke no English. I love you.
XOXO, k.
Dear Husband,
I love you and miss you so much at the same time! Thank you for working 3 jobs and doing all you can to provide for us now so we can have our time togethor when our dream home is done being built and when we have our babies! Thank you for your encouragement with my 2 jobs, and always supporting me and trying to lift my spirits as I hate with a passion one of them. Thank you for the suprise note and card you gave me this morning on our dating anniversary that made me cry and then putting up with me as I almost bit the electricians head off later on. You are my rock and the calm to my storm. You are so cool and never get upset and I love it, though I hate being the fiery one sometimes. I love and appreciate you more than anything and love being your wife. And while you are sleeping right now and I want to wake you up to tell you this, your puppy and I, who misses you too FYI, understand and will anxiously wait for the weekend to get you all to ourselves! Kisses!
Love your Wife and your obnoxious dog, Bear.
@Chelseamorning...Thanks! Sometimes we get caught up in venting frustrations we have to keep hidden that we forget to let loose the positive feelings!
Dear Daughter #1~
Have I told you lately how happy and grateful and proud I am that you were born to me? The sound of your laugh when you find something silly so hilarious, and the smile you have that truly lights up a room and makes your eyes sparkle , make me swell with pride that you are who you are. You're loyal and kind and thoughtful and just an all around great person.
My wish for you is that you always remain happy, healthy, independent and secure (which has actually been my prayer from the day you were born).
I can't wait to see you as a bride and I know the day will be magical!
Love you!
As Always
Mom
Dear Baby Girl #2~
A married woman already, but you knew at age 16 that he was the one! I'm sorry I had my doubts, but 10 years later and I've never seen you so happy and content. I was wrong and I love that I was wrong! You have someone who adores you and treats you with love and respect and as an equal, and Daddy & I couldn't be happier for you.
Despite all your challenges, you have blossomed and grown into a fabulous woman! You have a marvelous sense of humor and are so thoughtful,it still amazes me. You always try so hard to do your best at everything, but it ends up looking effortless. People love to be around you as you always make them feel welcome, and that no matter what you're doing, you always have time for a friend.
Your sweetness and caring attitude are great sources of pride for me. I'm glad other people see it too! I just plain love how you are!
How could God have blessed me twice?! Every time I look at you,I see in you a lovely spirit with an old soul. There's depth in those beautiful blue eyes, and a smile that draws people in.
Always stay as you are and don't let life's stresses get to you. Everything always works out as it should,so enjoy the ride!
I love you
As Always
Mom
To all the ladies at the hive-
Thank you for making this trip a fun and exciting time! Everyone is so upbeat and positive and so willing to offer advice, support and ideas.
It is so nice to belong to a group where everyone is on your side and even though we are all spread out over the world it's like we have a family full of positive support.
You ladies are wonderful and make my hellish days full of sunshine and wedding excitement!
Thank you for reminding us that while we can all use a good vent from time to time, it's always good to return to the happy and positve parts of our happy events!
Ruthie!
To my wonderful boyfriend: LOVE YOU SO MUCH!! I can't wait until we start our next step together and thanks for being such a great dad to my son...
Dear Hive,
THANK YOU for always being such bright spots in my day. I love that I can always count on you to be sweet, helpful and supportive to one another. I'm honored to be able to watch so many of you move from engaged (even PRE-engaged!) to wedding day recap/photos (-- and some even to Mommyhood!) and I LOVE watching your amazing weddings come together so beautifully and joyfully in the end.
You ladies give me faith and make it easy for me to keep believing in love, and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
<3
Lori
Dear FSIL,
Thanks for letting my mom <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">take over help with your wedding rather than mine. I seriously owe you one. I was scared that I was going to have to hurt my moms feelings and then you rush in and tell her you need help and have no idea what to do. You even asked me if I was mad about monopolizing my mom, but seriously girl I am thankful!!! Now you will get the wedding of your dreams, my mom gets to play wedding planner to someone she loves like a daughter, and I get my dream wedding as well. It all worked out so well and there were no feeling hurt!
Love you guys!
ME
Dear FH,
I LOVE you so much. I am truly greatful to have such a great guy in my life. You let me quit my job so that I could concentrate on graduating ASAP so we could start our lives together as adults. You always support me not only financially, but emotionally, and mentally as well. You know what I am thinking and know how to cheer me up when I get stressed out. All the small things that you do for me are amazing as well. Letting me sleep in until noon on the weekends, even though you are up at 7 or 8; getting me a snickers when I don't really need it; driving me all the way across town to get good icecream from braums rather than making me have mcd's; letting me be addicted to weddingbee... You are amazing. I seriously don't know what I would do without you.
I am yours always and forever!
Dear FMIL
Thanks for only asking us to invite 1 person to the wedding you are paying for.
Love, Me
Dear Future Husband,
Thanks for the great practice today.
Love,
Lauren
(I think I'm failing at doing this thread correctly. lol). :p
@fiftyfootbride: m is so funny he says you're not really practicing to make them unless you hold off for a few days because the little guys have time to build up stamina to swim faster... LMAO.... i say we should practice anyway because practice makes perfect lol!
