@mrsjordan53014:  I skipped this tradition. My wedding had was red, so I didn’t want to be inconsistent with adding random blue somewhere.

I had elected to skip this tradition (mostly because I don’t like the colour blue, haha!), but actually ended up with something that was Old, Borrowed and Blue – my grandmother’s saphire ring, which my aunt lent me to tie to my bouquet, along with pins from my other grandma, and DH’s grandma, all of whom passed away.

@mrsjordan53014:  I’m not specifically following this tradition, but have got a few of them together anyway.

Well, my old and blue will be the earrings my Granny got me for my 21st birthday, which have blue topaz on, and my necklace.

New will be my dress, my shoes, my hairpiece…

Borrowed was going to be my veil, because I was going to use my cousin’s, but apparently there’s too much of a difference between ‘Ivory’ and ‘Light Ivory’ for it to work. *sigh* So will have to ponder that one. I’m sure something will present itself closer to the time.

@mrsjordan53014:

Old: A string of pearls that I got for graduating high school

New: my dress

Borrowed: something from my FMIL(unsure of what that’ll be)

Blue: Originally going to be my shoes, but I might sew a blue heart from my dads old shirt into my dress. Unsure yet.

Old: I’m not quite sure about this one…does my e-ring count? Otherwise I might just wear an old pair of underwear? not dirty, old.

New: My dress, veil, shoes, etc

Borrowed: My mom’s diamond bracelet…ooooooh

I think I have this figured out.

Old: My Nana’s wedding band or my Great Nana’s wedding band.  Or both.  My mum wore Great Nana’s at her wedding.  I’ve been toying with the idea of asking her to wear it to mine.  Then she’ll be wearing her grandmother’s wedding band (I’m named after my Great Nana) and I’ll be wearing my grandmother’s wedding band.  I’m also using lace from my mum’s wedding dress to wrap my bouquet.

New: Dress, jewellery

Borrowed: I think I’m borrowing a veil from a friend. We just have to make sure the colours are close enough.  If not, I may rework my mother’s veil.  She’s offered it to me.

Blue: My shoes.  I am obsessed with blue, glittery, flats. And I keep saying I’ll wear blue underwear.  I tried my dress on with black (I didn’t plan on dress shopping that day).  It didn’t show.  So I can wear whatever I’d like.

Something old: my grandma’s engagement and wedding set with my mom’s center stone, worn on my right hand

Something new: dress, head piece, veil, shoes, undergarments, etc.

Something borrowed: going to see if i can borrow my dad’s wedding ring and wear it on an anklet/somehow attach it to my bouquet/etc.

Something blue: my engagement ring has a sapphire that is blue in some lights and violet in others….with the sunlight streaming into the church, it will be blue…

I actually wasn’t going to do it, then decided what the heck.

Old: Necklace we had made with my mom’s and my great grandma’s diamonds from their engagement rings

New: Dress/shoes

Borrowed: My sister’s floral hair comb

Blue: I am eyeballing a garter that is the theme I want but has a little blue bow to give you your “something blue”

Oooh! I love all of my something’s!

Old: my Grandma’s pearls that she wore on her wedding day!

New: my dress!

Borrowed: my veil, borrowing from my co-workers daughter who got married this past year, she said I was silly to buy one when her is exactly what I want!

Blue: my Grandma’s blue rosary that she gave me years ago. I will incorporate it in m bouquet.

🙂

Something old: My wedding dress ( it’s a ball gown from 1950), My pearls ( they were my grandmas), my veil ( it is a mantilla that is over 100 years old)

Something new: Whatever my shoes are and I got some Kate Spade bow earrings.

Something borrowed–Have not figured this out yet. Does something from Rent The Runway count?

Something blue–I am wearing a jeweled Art Deco hair comb from the 1920’s ( also goes with the old theme too)
