Whoops, I should answer my own poll...
Old: my mom's veil, a lace hankie my grandma carried on her wedding day
New: my dress, etc
Borrowed: the buttons from my mom's dress, a gold/diamond pendant my grandfather gave my grandma
Blue: shoes
Yes, I will be!
The only thing I know for sure is my something blue
It will definitely be blue shoes! Whether they be flats or heels? I'm not sure!
I want to do this, I think it is a cute tradition! I was really sad becuase I wanted to wear my mother's veil, but her dress was white and mine is ivory, and her veil is too short. For something old, I am pinning a gold pin onto my dress that belonged to my grandmother, who passed away many years ago. New - that is easy! Perhaps for blue, some flowers in my bouquet?? Who knows! I still have time to figure this one out :)
Valhalla, may you can use your mom veil for something else, like to wrap around your bouquet
Here is mine so far:
Old: Mom's veil (we are putting on a new comb and shortening it a bit)
New: Dress
Borrowed: Possibly mom's pearl necklace, or great-grandma's hanky (she is deceased, and it is in my mom's possession)
Blue: Hoping for blue shoes, but otherwise I will rock some crazy blue panties!
Valhalla - Are you wearing a blusher? Can you take a layer of your mom's veil to use for that? You could put it on a seperate comb and take it off after the ceremony.
Old: My grandma's pin (that I accidentally left in the car)
New: Dress
Borrowed: Earrings and necklace from MIL
Blue: Crinoline and garter
I love these traditions too!
Old: my engagement ring and wedding band! They are my fiance's maternal great-grandmother's from her 1903 wedding. I'm also wearing a pendant that my late grandmother gave me on my 18th birthday--it is a tie tack from her father, my great-grandfather that is soddered (sp?) together with a diamond pendant of her mother's. I'm also going to wrap some fabric from my mom's dress around my bouquet. And I'm wearing a special ribbon from my sorority initiation in my slip.
New: my dress, which I have yet to purchase
Borrowed: I'm borrowing a lot! My sister's peep toe heels from her wedding in 2007, my best friend's tiara from her 2006 wedding and my future mother-in-law and future sister-in-law have offered me their beautiful Belgian lace cathedral length veil that they wore in 1975 and 2005. My fiance's mother purchased it on a study abroad trip in Belgium in the 1960s before she was even engaged and she wore it on her wedding day, as did my fiance's sister.
Blue: My flowers are various shades of blue hydrangeas. It is a tradition with my sorority sisters to make each friend a sorority themed garter (even though I'm not doing a garter toss) that is blue.
And for my "lucky six pence in your shoe", I'm actually using a Euro from my trip to Ireland, a few weeks after I met my fiance.

Are you incorporating the Something Old/New/Borrowed/Blue? This is one of my favorite wedding traditions... what are you doing?
