- Wedding: April 2014
with this post my heart goes out to all the waiting bees whose men say weird things out of the blue. guys, i’m in your team now.
two days ago, my love and i were talking about some pics of disney world resort we saw on the internet. i told him that (don’t laugh) seeing disney world is one of my childhood dreams, unreleased partly because it’s so far away. and suddenly he asks:
“how would you like a honeymoon in paris? there’s disneyland in paris too, and many other great places to see. maybe you should browse the net and do some price check.”
not “a vacation”, not “a holiday trip” – it was “a honeymoon”. in paris. which was also my secret dream he never knew about.
btw, i told him before that i hope for at least a year to pass from the moment of popping a question to the wedding. he agreed on that. so his sudden question (we both didnt mention anything so wedding related for a long while) made me think that the proposal is soon to come. i got super excited, but it only lasted until last night.
we were having a drink with two of our friends, a couple. when everyone became a little dizzy (ok, some of us – a LOT), we started to talk about future plans and travelling. they told us they planned to go to prague sometime soon. my SO stuck his 2 cents in: “and we are going to paris right after we get married”. the guy asked, “does it mean you’re getting married soon?” and my SO said…“NO”.
i did my best not to look surprised, but my heart was screaming “…what do you mean – NO”? you asked me to do a freaking price check yesterday, and wondered about my ring size a week ago…wtf? 😀
i talked to my BFF over the phone today and she said it might have been a trick, to avoid stupid questions from everyone in our company before the actual engagement and not to ruin the part of surprise for me. but guys, seriously, it was cruel. =
i’m feeling totally confused now, but hope it will pass soon. *sigh*
do any of you bees have hard waiting times this week?
