I was considering doing this but, instead I’m just going to ask my friends since I’m having a 40 people wedding. I think it’s a neat idea and thughtful.

We have an online RSVP form and have asked for song recs.  Most people (probably 90%+) have replied with ideas, and it’s been fun!  We really want a good party, so investing people in the music is a good way to start, we thought.  Plus, it sets the tone for a fun event!

Wow, I’ve never heard of that, but I REALLY like the idea!

We tried this–the majority of our guests RSVP’d without remembering the song requests. We also posted something on our website about it–we’ve gotten some great songs, but this wasn’t as successful as we thought it would be. Not really a problem for us because now we can load up the playlist with more songs we love 🙂

I want to do this but I just heard how Miss Dorsay was having problems because guess were taking more time to decide a song, there for she was not getting theR SVP cards really fast.

But I looooove the idea, maybe she’ll update about how the experience was at the end 🙂

I think this is such a great idea, but agree with Poodle and Miss D’Orsay that it might make people hold out on sending RSVP cards back if they can’t think of a good song (and trust me, sometimes getting those RSVP cards back is hard enough already!).  Perhaps you could put a poll on your wedding website for the suggestions….and make sure to put the wedding website address on your S-T-D?  Good luck!!

We’re planning to do this with our online RSVPs… (although I reserve veto rights). Didn’t even consider guests waiting to reply until they come up with a song! I’m going to add a little note that they can always send it in later! 😀

we did this and it worked out well.  about 75% of people did include a song or write down something like “play a lot of country.” the only problem now is deciding if we actually play all of these songs!!  there are maybe 5 or 6 in the bunch that are not my idea of a good song at all!!!

We were thinking about this but because we are planning on having a band, we don’t want to make it seem like we are over-promising. We may put something up on our wedding website so we can put these songs on a playlist during the band’s break
