We used Rascal Flatts – My Wish for both dances at the same time.  And in the middle, we had the DJ invite everyone up to join so we didn’t have to continue to sway aroudn for the full time and bore everyone to death.

My dad picked “the Way You Look Tonight” for our dance and my husband’s mom picked “I Hope You Dance” for the mother/son dance – those both might be too cheesy for your FI, but they are pretty gender neutral! We had both songs shortened to around 2-2:30 min and it was a fine amount of time. The Way You Look Tonight is hard to fade out, but our DJ did a good job picking the right spot – if you go with that, I can give you the exact time he faded it!

We also did our dances towards the end of dinner, so guests were still eating/talking and weren’t paying full attention, which I think helped with the boredom factor.

We did a joint dance too, to “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac.

MrsWatkinstobe:  I was going to suggest In My Life by The Beatles as well. We aren’t having parent dances, but we are using this beautiful song in our ceremony.
