Has anyone ever seen song titles on the place cards as the table names instead of numbers?

I really like the idea of it, but can't decide if it will translate well or if it will just be confusing for our guests.

    What do you bees think?

I like it...do you have any ideas of ones you would want to use?  Then maybe we can help come up with more suggestions.  The only thing is you would just want to make sure they weren't too long.

I like the idea but I think it could be a little confusing. It is much easier to see a big "1" or some kind of symbol from across the room than it is to read an entire phrase. Having said that, I think the confusion would be minimal, and worth it if it fits into your theme :)

our reception is at a music concert hall, so we thought it would be cute to give out cd's as the favors... and then we thought of naming the tables the song titles on the cds.

here are a few of them, are these too long or confusing? we would only have the song title, not the artist following it.

Heart of Gold by Neil Diamond

    Forever Young by Bob Dylan

    Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers

Monalisas and Madhatters by Elton John

    Somebody to Love by Queen

    Ophelia by The Band

Do it! But, I would have a sign to explain so your guests understand.

Basically, our sign said "Please find your name followed by your table name, the tables were named after the couples favorite landmarks in Italy"

Also, I would stick with just the song titles, and not include the artist's names, IMO that would be too long/much for an escort card.

what a cute idea! Go for it! Just have a sign at the name tag table explaining about everything. Then no one ought to be confused. :)

We are doing something similar...taking pictures of places around nyc..and having the picture designate the table...then going to have a picture frame on each table with that pic in it!

I love ideas that aren't regular table numbers!

I was MOH at a wedding that did this.

All of the tables were named after Beetles songs.  Each table had a framed piece of paper with that song and then your name was put on a place card of where you got to sit.

    It was different but nice.

I went to a wedding where the table #'s were all classic rock bands- I sat at the ZZ top table.  It was super cute the way that they did it.  I have a picture of my sister in law holding up the  ZZ top "legs" picture.

I've seen it a wedding and I loved it.  At this wedding they put the number still, and below the number was the title of the song.
