Our first dance song was “Dance Me to the End of Love,” by Leonard Cohen. I’m not sure how old is “older,” in your vocabulary (and probably don’t want to know!), but both of us loved it, and we were 56 and 41.

At all of the weddings that I’ve gone to, older people tend to dance off of anything. And they know all of the latest dance moves.

Not sure but I was inspired by your post to shoot off a quick email to both sets of parents asking if they had a few song requests!  I’ll let you know what they come back with!

Classic Rock?  From the 70s.  Or the Beatles.  Or Oldies.

I love the Beach Boys songs “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows” and we will be playing them at some point during the reception.  Not sure how great they are to dance to but the Beach Boys are classic! 🙂

Any Beach Boys, Temptations, Beatles or Elvis should do the trick.  Here’s another goodie – look up Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny.  It’s a beautiful instrumental that will get your older guests remembering their romantic dances from their youth!!!!
