I love Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison". It always gets people on the dancefloor, and it's so fun to sing along to.
Bobby Brown! What about SWV (sisters with voices) who sang the song 'Weak.' God, I loved that one.
Ice Ice Baby
Anything by Salt n Pepa
Anything by New Kids on the Block
Baby (Brandy)
It's Just One of Those Days (Monica)
Informer (Snow)
I don't know if this question is about dance songs or anything, I'm just naming things off the top of my head ;o)
Also, if you're looking for ideas, go on one of those sites that sells CDs on TV...they always have 90s compilations.
Hotchildinthecity: Love your choices...all my favs too (minus the Brandy)
I was a HUGE Shai fan..."Baby I'm yours"
Oh yeah and Tevin Campbell..."I'm ready"
are you thinking just general songs from the 90's? Or wedding? dance songs....
90's I think of Radiohead, Green Day, DMB, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morrisette,Counting Crows
But more pop- TLC (Waterfalls), Salt N Pepa (Shoop), Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men (Motownphilly), Proclaimers (I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)), Britney (... Baby One More Time)
@Jingle: Brandy's "Sittin up in my room" was SO my song when I was crushing on a guy in like the 7th grade ;o)
hotchildinthecity: Haha, thats funny. I wasn't a real Brandy fan, I was more Monica "...I will cross the ocean for you, I go and bring you the moon...for you I WILL!!" Aaahhhh, how I miss those days!
We will be having songs from all the decades and my 90's decade is totally lacking. Majority of our guests will be more into country and I'm not much of a booty shaking kind of dancer yet the songs that remind me of the 90's are booty shaking songs :)
I love 90s dance songs, they remind me of junior high dances LOL! 90s dance songs that are a must and oh so cheesy are: "Tootsie Roll" "Daisy Duke" by 69 Boyz, "This is How We Do It" Montell Jorden, "1,2,4" Coolio
And OMG I just did a search and that song by LFO "Summer Girls" was SO Popular! " I like girls who wear Acrombie & Fitch!"
Pendola: You mean you don't want to shake your booty to, "Baby got Back!" by Sir Mix a Lot!! Haha, when you said booty shaking that song all of a sudden popped into my head!
Ok i was talking about this today with someone else...I'm with the backstreet boys , boyz 2 men , Bryan Adams ( summer of 69) , salt and peppa def, I be treading lightly on the 80's side too ..with a few songs by Aerosmith , guns n roses maybe ...Keith Sweat, Bon Jovi's a winner at weddings :)
The 90's were quite possibly my favorite era of music (close battle with the 80's). Poison is a great song! You have to enjoy hearing the classic 1 hit wonders like Vanilla Ice, and that song "Candy Rain" by Soul 4 Real i think it was, and Bust a Move!! MC hammer was another fun one as well!
Boyz II Men "Motownphilly"
Lisa Loeb "Stay"
311 "Down"
Dave Mathew's Band "Crash Into Me"
Goo Goo Dolls "Name"
Third Eye Blind "How's It Gonna Be"
Oasis "Wonderwall"
Fiona Apple "Criminal"
Sublime "What I Got"
Ace of Bace "The Sign"
Mariah Carey "Someday" & "Hero"
Kriss Kross "Jump Jump"
NKOTB "Step By Step" (not sure if this was 89 or 90)
Snow "Informer"
TLC "Creep"
Montell Jordan "This is How We Do It"
Aaliyah "Back & Forth"
Bone Thugs & Harmony "Tha Crossroads"
Sorry I'm kind of obsessed with 90's music!! I think I could go on forever.
Oh I'll add some (the list is awesome by the way, I'm pretty sure I have almost all of these on my 90's playlist)
Real Love - Mary J Blige feat Notorious BIG
Only You - 112 feat Notorious BIG
Juicy/Big Poppa/Mo Money Mo Problems - Notorious BIG
(Ok, so anything from Bad Boy Records from the 90s.)
hehe i'll be the first to admit....
spice girls!! all of them! including Wannabe!
and then can i say the boy bands, esp 98 degress and I Do music video? first time watching that i couldn't help but say.... that's my dream wedding!!!! hehe my tastes haev changed... but wedding on the water with tons of flower petals are still a dream!
Oh and I just thought of
Regulate - Warren G
Gansta's Paradise - Coolio
Freak Like Me - Adina Howard
And the entire Nutty Professor soundstrack.
PS - why the hell was I allowed to listen to this stuff? I was a kid! Good thing I didn't know what most of it meant...
Dunkie Butt. Nuff Said.
Just get Booty Mix 96. I'd love if we could use that. :p
Last time I'm commenting I swear--but does anyone remember Jock Jams? I was OBSESSED! lol
I would say that the USB stick (plugs into my stereo) in my car has more 90s music than 2000's music. I reallylove 90s music, you really can't compare music today to that decade. I mean, Snow's "Informer"? They just don't make 'em like that anymore! ;)
Hahaha, FSIL had Savage Garden played at her wedding. That brought back memories.
"Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer
"Ice Ice Baby" by Vanilla Ice
"Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix A Lot
"Gonna Make you Sweat" by C & C Music Factory
Ummmm let's not forget Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch "Good Vibrations" please. Remember when he was just a shirtless rapping white boy? Oh, memories.
I second "Poison" because I love that song. Also "Lovefool" always brings me back to the 90s. God there are so many. How about some of the oft-overlooked classics like James - "Laid" and Soul Decision - "Faded"
