The first song that popped into my head:
"Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor. Every time (and I do mean EVERY time) I hear it I cry like a baby. I love it though!
Music has always been very important to me and I relate different events with different songs, but to list a few...
Make you feel my love - Adele
The Luckiest - Ben Folds
For some reason I've been very emotional lately when I hear Perry's 'When I die young' and I can't listen to Tim McGraw's 'If you're reading this' with out crying!
The two pieces of music I chose for my ceremony do this to me...So I guess I chose them for masochistic reasons :) Air on the G-String by Bach and Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. Fortunately I was too distracted by other things when I was walking down the aisle to truly feel the music and start bawling.
Only at Christmas...The Christmas Shoes. I am not a religious person at all but I cry every single time I hear this song.
@lilybee: Love "The Luckiest"
@Ms Sassy: I cry every.single. time I hear that song!
Winter Winds by Mumford and Sons kills me
So does Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk
And about a million others but those are two that do it every time!
Falling Slowly from "Once". Actually, a lot of the songs from that movie hit me in a way most contemporary music fails to. I think it is because it has such a raw, acoustical sound.
Growing up I was always rather stoic, but I sang. I sang for weddings, funerals, in church, in choirs, in the shower -- wherever I could. And it truly was an emotional outlet, so I find music very emotional in general and have been known to cry during really happy songs, too. Which songs I cry on depend on any given day, though. But I cry in general. :)
Any songs that deal with daddy/daughter or mother/daughter inevitably make me cry. For example:
"Mama" - Carrie Underwood
"I loved her first" - Heartland
Those are my two favorites :) :)
Antony & the Johnsons "Hope there's someone." This man has the most beautiful and tender voice and his songs get me every time especially the one above. SO DEEP and PROFOUND! I recommend all to check him out.
NWR - Tracey Chapman "The Promise"
Wedding related (sort of) - Moon River
Our wedding song! Come Away With Me by Norah Jones...every time I hear it, I am immediately taken back to when we were dancing at our wedding and I tear up.
I'm with 2Peasinapod- I love my wedding song and it always makes me stop dead in my tracks. "Have a Little Faith In Me"
Our wedding song, too!! You and Me by Lifehouse.
A contestant sang it a month ago on America's Got Talent and I cried. Husband was laughing at me (in a good way, of course)!!
@lilybee: I was just going to list 'The Luckiest' by Ben Folds. Love it!
Oy.
The Luckiest by Ben Folds Five.
Remember When by Alan Jackson
The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson <--- walking down the aisle to this one.

Do any of you girls have any songs that, as soon as you hear them, your heart clenches up and you end up really emotional?
Boston by Augustana does this to me. Also Konstantine by Something Corporate. I'm a sucker for pianos!!
