One DJ we talked to had this great idea about instead of having table numbers, have each table be named after a song and when that song is played that means that table can go through the buffet line instead of having a host/hostess dismiss tables, I loved it!
Anyway, I am torn between love songs or fun/funky songs or both.
Do you creative ladies have suggestions for fun songs or love songs to use for this?

That’s a fun idea…I just wonder how smoothly it’ll work. Like if everyone is paying enough attention to realize it’s their song…or does the dj just play like 45 seconds to one minute of each song?
As far as what songs to choose, if you do it I would do very well known songs that people will realize is “their” song and then just songs you really like.

Yea, I was concerned about people paying attention and how much of the song to play but he is just going to go to the next song when its time, and announce the song title when necessary.
I agree with using well known songs, I am hoping most everyone recognizes their songs…It seems so fun and I have never seen it done before so hopefully we can pull it off! 🙂

1) Why not have the dj announce each song as he plays it, just to make sure each table knows what’s going on? i.e. “Everyone at the “Love is All You Need” table, please proceed to the buffet.”
2) Make sure the tables are easy to find, since they won’t be numbered. I saw one bride’s guests struggle with this on “Four Weddings.” Maybe make sure the tables are arranged alphabetically, or have a small map on the escort card table of where each table is? Or still have numbers for location purposes, but name the tables as well?
I like the idea, though. That sounds fun!

Yeah that sounds pretty cool if your DJ is on the ball and paying attention. Def fun songs rather than soppy, though. Keep it light hearted.
