Skype is fantastic!  Don’t think about the distance too much – it’s only a month!  That’s only four weeks, or approximately 28 days!  Not too much to handle at all.  (:

@RenoSweeney24:  I agree with the pp! In the beginning it will seem like you’ll never see the end of the 4 weeks, but seriously when you get to that day you’ll see the time flew! Busy yourself with packing and getting ready for the move.

When my bf and I were in the phase of not seeing each other for 4-6 weeks we found it easiest if we DIDN’T talk about the time and distance. We would also send lots of cards/flowers/ etc back and forth as something to look forward since you can’t ever each other. When your LD is really the little things that count!

@RenoSweeney24:  I completely agree that skype is an awesome support! Also just try and keep busy with daily chores and then I promise the time will just fly!

I’m 11 months in (and the end is only 5 weeks away) of an intercontinental relationship. The first few days after he left for the worst. The best advice I can give is constant communication Skype, messaging, texting, carrier pigeon). We Both sleep different sets of 8 hours daily, but that still leaves another 8 free, factor in work and we probably chat for 2-3 hours a day (casually). On the weekend we will do long skyping.

The other advice is don’t stop your life. I go running, I cook new meals, I eat dinner with different friends (we have a rule that if it’s opposite sex we mention it to the other). I go toparties. I go on vacation. I go hiking with groups of friends. Keeping a life means I don’t sit around home pining for him, because when I am home it’s my downtime, not all of my time. I took up study as something to occupy my time.

You can do 4 weeks. It will fly by. I suggest you come up with a project – maybe a wedding DIY.  That way  you aren’t lost.
