Here’s my shortened version of the story:
We recently had the head on my e-ring replaced from a 6 prong to a 4 prong head. Before they began working on it, the saleslady called me to explain that the diameter of the 4 prong is just a hair smaller than that of the original 6, so it might be *minutely* tighter. I told her it was not big deal, and actually would prefer it that way. My ring was a size 6, but has always been pretty loose on me. I told her to go ahead and size it to 5 3/4…it would fit a little more securely like I’ve been wanting, and it would also make it easy when ordering a wedding band, since the fit would be the same. Make sense? So fast forward to Friday, my FI went to pick up the ring, and brought it to me at work. IT DIDN’T FIT!!! It’s WAY too small!! They must have sized it to a size 5 because I can’t even get it over my knuckle!! I was pissed!!
Anyway, I called them on Saturday and they told me to bring it in and they would fix it. I have documentation that states 5.75. However, I’m pissed because I’m afraid that they sized it so small that they would have to cut my ring, add gold, and solder it together. So, because of their mistake, my ring will not be in the perfect condition it was originally.
Am I being crazy or am I justified in being upset? What else can I do? What would you do??
