so as some of you may know, Mr. Meowerson and I bought the ring a few months back but were planning on getting engaged some time in the summer. he completely surprised me yesterday with his proposal!! it's official =)
I came home yesterday afternoon to a trail of pink tulips (my favorite) leading to the bedroom, with candles and flowers and champagne all around....in the bedroom, he was waiting in his suit (looking dashing), and he'd organized all the letters and cards he'd written me over the past 9 years on the bed. The cat was there with the ring around her collar, but she ran away and we had to spend 10 minutes hunting her down!
He got down on his knee and put the ring on the wrong hand...he was very cute and nervous. He then whisked me away to the #4 restaurant in DC, which is right near the White House and was AMAZING. We then went back to the hotel suite he'd booked for us for the night, which overlooks the capitol, and was the place we'd stayed when we first visited DC. Little did I know that he'd arranged for 10 of our friends to surprise us as we opened the door with champagne and treats! We then all went out to a bar down the street and it was such a wonderful night.
I don't know how everyone had kept it under wraps all week, and he did such an amazing job with the planning and everything. 
Congrats!!!! Sounds like you had the most perfect weekend, and its pretty funny that you two had to chase your cat.
ANOTHER surprise- he booked us two tickets home to california next month and booked a room and caterer for an engagement party!!

VERY pretty ring! Congratulations! I have to ask...are the diamons bezel set or semi-bezel set? I love the look of your ring a lot!!
@2PeasinaPod: that photo of the ring is actually kind of deceiving....they are round diamonds, not bezel, but for some reason they look that way in the photo lol. i'll try and take a better photo tonight.
@PitBulLover: omg dinner was amazing. the restaurant was adoure at the st. regis. simply delicious. we stayed at the savoy suites in glover park after, right near georgetown.

oh and my best friend got a dozen georgetown cupcakes with our initials on them, which were waiting for us in the suite! i'll upload some of those photos soon.
