So we’re going to a party Saturday for this gorgeous older couple we love, but I am clueless as what to gift!
Its a joint party for them, she is turning 60 and he is (finally) retiring 🙂 She has been nagging him for a while, they are AVID 4WDers and are going to travel around Australia next year.
So, any clues on what to get them each?
I thought for him maybe engraved whiskey tumblers, they love a tipple in the evening by the campfire – but I am also at a loss of what to write on them!
What do you get for a 60 year old woman? What could she possibly want? :S
Thanks for any suggestions bees!!

Whiskey tumblers are a nice idea if they enjoy whiskey, and since it’s a joint party a joint present sounds good too!
They’re about to begin a journey, a literal and metaphorical one (new path of life after retiring/truning 60). So how about writing “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”? It’s a famous Lao Tzu quote. If it’s too long, maybe you could buy a nice wooden box for the whiskey glasses and have the quote written on the box? And add a fancy bottle of whiskey to your present?
Just some ideas from the top of my head, I hope it helps a little!

@FutureMrsHallam: Aussie roadtrip – AWESOME. We did this last year! You could always just get them a joint gift, like a decent but user friendly GPS, and a nice bottle of port or something. A voucher for a good camping shop wouldn’t go astray either; I’m sure there’s stuff they’ll need to buy before they head off. Good luck!

@MsMeow: I love that quote, so fitting! Thanks so much 😀 A bottle of whiskey is a simple but great idea to add (DUH me!)
@ksus07: I can’t wait till FI and I get to do it one day too! Good point, they have everything (literally, eeeeeverything) they could want, but she loves to replace stuff! – can’t go wrong with a gift card 🙂
