That totally sucks. My college profs always complained that they couldn't take off for vacation whenever they wanted.
Can you do something closer/shorter so you don't feel like you missed out too much? Maybe over Thanksgiving?
Awww I'm sorry to hear that. BUT you're still going albeit a bit later. Maybe you could do a mini-Italian moon around SoCal? Spend a weekend only eating at Italian restaurants? Try making homemade gelato and pastas? Listen to Italian online radio stations and opera? Leaning tower of donuts for breakfast?

I'm sorry about that. It's tough sometimes but being in this program will be great for his career in the long run. You will get to go on the trip later and it will be more fun because you won't have to worry about him not having job prospects!
Don't be bummed out! I think a "minimoon" would be perfect! Since you are in SoCal maybe you could hit up the spas in Palm Springs or maybe Montecito? Or you could travel up to NoCal and spend a nice weekend in Napa or Sonoma? What is better than chocolate, wine, and your man?

Can you guys do a minimoon? Something fun but only a few days. Definitely do reschedule the honeymoon, as opposed to canceling and waiting awhile to book it. I have met a lot of couples that did that and never ended up going on their honeymoon at all- not fun!

Turns out FI and I are going to have to end up postponing the honeymoon to Italy and rescheduling until next year; probably Feb/April. The director of the college professor intern program FI got accepted to said NO to taking 2 weeks off. This means no exciting trip after the wedding and losing out on 400-500 bucks to reschedule. I'm realllly bummed but do not want to show it so FI wont feel bad but I'm really sad about it.);
