I’m curious to the opinions of you all on Sophie the Giraffe teether. My daughter is 4 months, and has plenty of toys but doesn’t seem to have a whole bunch of interest in them. We are trying to work with her on holding toys and engaging with them, so I was hoping to hear stories of peoples experience with Sophie. We had a check up and our daughter is a little behind so I want to make sure we are doing everything we can to encourage her growth.

@carriejuly: Honestly, DD1 completely ignored Sophie. We kept it for DD2 and she also got another Sophie teething ring as a gift, so we’ll see how it goes with her.

My son is 5 months old. I git him a Sophie for Christmas, he likes it. It’s easy to hold on to the neck &legs, and he likes chewing on her face.

@carriejuly: My niece & nephew loved her! Chewed on her all the time.

@Ellegee: thanks so much for the feedback
@abbyful: thanks, it seems small and soft which is nice, my husband would kill me if we got it and she showed no interest in it!
@pmerr: good know

I don’t have kids but it seems to me that Sophie is like baby crack. EVERY baby I know LOVES sophie. I don’t know what it is about this overpriced rubber giraffe but they seroiusly are obsessed with her lol! I’d definitely try it out!

My son is 16 months old and he loves Sophie! I gave him her last year for Christmas.. He still chews on her here and there and squeezes her!
This was taken last year sometime…

@Sassygrn: thank you that is the most adorable pic!!
We decided to go for it!! Right now we are focused on introducing it without my dog claiming it for himself, but we are working on it! Thank you for your feedback!!

I gave my niece a Sophie when she was born. She loved her from day 1. She’s 7 months now and still loves her. I also really like that she’s made of natural rubber.

My daughter loved it up until I threw it away at about 1.5

DS is nearing 6 months, and last night was the first time he’s shown any interest in her at all…the squeaking made him laugh, and he’s chewing on everything he can get his mouth on at the moment, so she’s great for that.

We got one for our baby shower, so I can’t comment on it yet (since LO isn’t here yet), but I feel like it’s an overpriced dog toy. I could get something similar at a pet store or online for less than 1/2 the cost of Sophie. I’ve heard great things about it, but I do wonder if I picked up something similar from Petsmart if anyone would realize.

it’s great for teething. my son would chew and chew and chew on her when his bottom teeth came in.
