@Christy213: Im a Gamma Phi too! haha…but we did have a girl actually get married while we were STILL in college…and instead of inviting all 100 of us she invited her close gamma phi friends to the ceremony and reception…and then invited everyone to join in at the reception if they wanted to…it actually worked out great. I think that would be the best thing to do…the only thing is…are you going to do dinner at your reception? because if you are then thats a lot of extra $$$.

I am just inviting my little and the girls that I am closest with  (about 15 G Phi Bs) but I am 4 yrs out of college so they are a little bit more mature and understanding about all that.

I think that cocktails after dinner sounds great! just make sure that they know its just cocktail hour and not dinner so they come…welll….not hungry. haha. I dont think its tacky if its your only option to have people participate. If they dont like it…then they can choose not to come.

I think that’s a great idea, but be sure to spell it “due” instead of “do” — annoying homophones! I might also reword the end so that it reads something like “Due to the size of our venue we are unable to invite all Gamma Phi Betas, but we would love for you to celebrate with us! You are welcome to join us at the reception for cocktails at 8:00 pm” or something that expresses your feelings about seeing them so that it doesn’t just sound like a courtesy invite. 🙂

Also a Gamma Phi! : )  Sorority stuff gets so tricky!  I think the best course is to explain to them.  I have one girl that invited a bunch of G-Phis but not me and I still remember it to this day!  Open and honest always works best.  I think inviting them to the reception sounds great.
