My daughter will be 14 weeks on Thursday, and I have been feeling what I would describe as phantom baby kicks for the last couple of weeks. Needless to say, it totally freaked me out, so I took a pregnancy test just in case (stark white BFN).
Of course, I took to Dr. Google, and apparently this is fairly common in people who have had babies. I’m sure it’s just gas and my body has just changed after having a baby, but it’s pretty unsettling!
Anybody else experience this?
I had no idea what board to post this to, so I just chose Babies since this usually happens to people who already have them.

Yes, it is totally weird! I’ve heard it can be muscle spasms as everything shrinks back down. But I swear it felt just like baby kicks.

Yes, still get them occasionally. I’ve had two babies. It is also extremely common in women who have had a c-section, since it can take up to a year for everything to move back into place. It feels exactly like baby movement to me. Just one of those things that you will have to adjust to.

Ok, so I’m not insane! I had a vaginal delivery. I’m guessing it has to do with our stomach muscles not being as toned as they once were? It’s also probably more apparent to us because we know what baby kicks feel like.
Great! This will be fun to always be paranoid that I’m pregnant -__-

I’ve had a hysterectomy and I think that way sometimes too! I think it’s gas. 🙁

I have had that happen before! Crazy.

Yes!!! I took a pregnancy test a few weeks ago because of it. So crazy.

@FloridaGatorBride: This is totally going to freak me out, especially since DD wasn’t planned, and I didn’t know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks!

My friend told me that she could feel her organs shifting downward and settling for weeks and it freaked her out.

That is too funny, I never thought that this might happen after pregnancy! Good to know, so that I won’t be too freaked out if it happens!

I had them for about my first 24 hours after delivery.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: I had those for a few months after my first son was born! my doctor told me it was gas lol. But it totally is phantom baby kicks.
ETA: I had a c-section.

I had those shortly after my sons were born. I just thought it was all in my mind. My sons were born at 28 weeks and figured I was having a hard time accepting that I was no longer pregnant.

What’s funny was when I was pregnant and people would say kicks felt like gas bubbles I was like… Hummm… No! Hahaha but now I know what they mean! And it feels exactly the same!!
