As long as you're not walking alone REALLY late, I've always felt totally safe in Vegas. There are so many people on the Strip. What are you looking to do? Show? Clubs?
If it's the end of March you will be in MarchMadness - you could always go to a sportsbook, have a drink, and watch men loose their shirts betting on Duke :).
Being at the TI is a good spot. You've got the Fashion Show mall just across the street with tons of great shopping and dining.
Kitty-corner from the TI is the Wynn and Encore - great clubs in there!
Across the street is the Palazzo and the Venetian - go to Madaam Tussad's wax museum.
Next door is the Mirage. You've got the Secret Garden with all the white tigers and other S&R animals.. and I highly recommend going to see LOVE - it's the Cirque Du Soileil show with Beatles music... there's a cool bar right outside the theater too.
All of these places are in super close walking distance from the TI, so you shouldn't really have to worry about safety.
Have fun!
There is so much to do in Vegas by yourself, and it is pretty safe on the strip. My sister in law walked around all by herself at night and no issues at all.
You can go see the Sirens of TI show at Treasure Island, which is pretty cool
Definetly walk through as many casinos as you can, they are all pretty different and a really cool experience all in their own way (especially Paris, Venetian, NY NY)
You can go watch the volcano eruptions at Mirage. The Bellagio has a pretty cool botanical garden. The Venetian has human sculptures that are fun to see. The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood and the Forum Shops at Ceasers are really cool too.
You most definetly should go see the new City Center. It is absolutely amazing. It's the brand new project and its like a city within itsself. Go through Aria, the centerpeice hotel/casino, and Crystals, the high end shopping area, even just to look. It is so cool!
If you have someone to walk around with, then I would suggest going up to Fremont Street. It is in a shadier neighborhood, but if you have someone to go with it is a pretty cool experience. Also up near Fremont Street is the Premium Outlets, lots of good stores!
If you are interested in shows, Mystere at TI is the most amazing show ever. I have also heard that Lion King is amazing, along with The V: Variety Show and the hypnotist at Planet Hollywood. There is so much to do here, and since the economy is down, it can be a really cheap vacation.
Sorry for the overload of information, I live here and there is so much cool stuff to see and I haven't even seen it all. I hope you have a fabulous vacation!
Fremont street is fun but definitely go with someone!

My sister has a business trip to Las Vegas in March and invited me to go as a sort of bachelorette. She's brining her fiancée and we invited others who were all gung-ho but everyone fizzled out so it's just the three of us, which is still cool. But since I'm the third wheel and my sister is in conferences all day for work I didn't want them to feel they had to include me in everything they do at night. Plus I love to travel alone and I think they're less night-owl then I am and I only have three nights there so I don't want to miss anything with something as mundane as sleep! We're staying at Treasure Island.....any recommendations for fun, cheap, safe, easy to get to places I can go to alone at night??? This is my third trip to Vegas so I have a few ideas but thought I'd ask locals for insight :-)
