I don't know. :( This has been on my mind a lot recently, and I feel like I'm all out of ideas. He's not particularly picky, but he likes "useful" gifts. Hopefully we'll think of something soon!

My DH and his family like to give experiences rather than stuff as gifts, and I'm really becoming a fan of that philosophy. This year we are planning a fairly big trip as our Christmas gift to one another.

He picked it out himself months ago.. he didn't know I'd be getting it for him. For his birthday I'll be getting him tea to go in it. His birthday is on the 30th.

Now, I don't know what to do for our anniversary.... haha that's really soon.

    a record player

he has a small record label putting out albums on vinyl (mostly punk & metal, been at it for 25+ years) and his record player broke

I already bought it, it's in my office at work. The hard part is getting him to NOT buy himself one before Christmas. I made him promise not to buy himself anything at all.

I'm really really hoping that Alabama makes it to the national championship again this year because I'll just buy us tickets to that and call it a day. If not, I have to get creative because he's Jewish, so I get him 8 hanukkah presents. He mentioned that he needs a new wallet, so I'd probably do that. Maybe some polo shirts and whiskey? He's so hard to buy for!

@Boston Bee:  Championship tickets are SO expensive!!! I got my FI a Nick Saban autographed football... and then after the championship I had members of the team sign the ball. I worked for a man who knew the team, though.

He's become obsessed with drinking tea lately, and I discovered a really great tea store nearby so... long story short, I'm not sure but it's going to be tea related!! Haha!

I got him a James Bond Scalextric set and a pair of tickets to the Belgian Grand Prix (he loves his cars). I'm going to get him a hideous reindeer sweater and wrap the tickets in it (or the letter from the circuit confirming that I've bought them at least). We decided to splash out a bit for our first Christmas as a married couple.

I've hinted to him that I've got him something amazing, so I'm hoping for something containing diamonds for Christmas. :)

My husband is easy to shop for.  Fun, too!  I have a list in my phone and I update it throughout the year with gift ideas.

    So far-

-A statue from an art gallery in town that he loves

-One of the Yankee Candle "Man Scents"

-a Los Pollos shirt (for any breaking bad fans, it is awesome)

    -an NBA Jame tee shirt

He has also requested a new beard trimmer.

@Missus_LLC:  This may not fit your SO but I love doing stuff like making a gift basket with all his favorite things.

    Favorite candy

    Favorite snacks

    Favorite beer/soda/wine/liquor

Favorite shower gel, shave gel, cologne

If he is into gaming, put the latest game in there

Maybe some classic guy movies that he doesn't own if he is into movies

If he likes to golf, you include a gift certificate for a private golfing lesson at a local pro-shop

The possibilities are really endless, just depends on what his favorites are.

My DH buys everything he wants too so I'm always having a hard time figuring out a gift for him! This year I'm getting him a nice new leather wallet. His current one is all stretched out so it's something he could use and he wouldn't think about buying himself. Because honestly, he doesn't think that his credit cards falling out is a problem! LOL....boys....

So is there anything that you think he needs replacing/upgrading that he might not think of for himself?

My DH's birthday is December 3, so I ban him from buying anything for himself between September and December. So far, between the two holidays, I have:

Electric toothbrush (he's been wanting one for a year or two)

Awesome giant mittens with gloves inside (and a fold-back flap)

Hideous orange/purple golf shorts that he saw on the Golf Channel and wanted

The Hallmark Hines Ward Christmas ornament

I'm also thinking about getting him a Lowe's gift card since we need a new grill (and I can't afford the $600 one I thought he wanted), but last night he told me that he wanted to build an outdoor fireplace with a built-in grill. I guess he could still use a Lowe's gift card for that?

I bought DH a dirtbike helmet that he wanted. Although he already knows because he ended up ordering the same one and I had to tell him to call and cancel the order because I already got it for him. He seems  to always ruin the surprise every year!

Other than that I got him some shirts for work, and I'll get him Days of Thunder on blu ray and probably some gift cards for his stocking.

I'm dying to tell him his present! We split the holidays so thanksgiving is with his family. His parents and one of his brothers are in Texas, we looked at flights a few months ago but prices were sky high. His parents, us, and others were talking about going to Virginia for thanksgiving. His mom called over a month ago not really wanting to go, the food isn't traditional and just wanted to figure something else out. I happened to check out flight prices last month and they came down a lot, over halfway down. So I get his moms phone number while he was in the kitchen one night and send her a message about coming over and getting us tickets as a Christmas gift, she loves it! I tell her that I need her help to call him to ask off the week because me asking him to ask off will make him ask questions. She calls him that night saying the plans have changed and they are coming here for the week! He bought it and thinks that is what is happening although we are flying to Texas next Friday!

@missmorganista:  Yeah, they are super expensive, but we live in Florida and have tons of friends in Miami, so it would be easy for us to go and would only be the cost of the tickets and no flights/hotels. And I'm a big Bama fan too so I don't mind spending the money! And I'm hoping for something very expensive (i.e. a ring!) for Christmas, so I wouldn't mind splurging on him!
