I voted other - he is messy/forgetful in the most FRUSTRATING ways. Such as "cleaning up" and only picking up 1-2 things when there's an entire mass of clutter in the living room. Or cooking and leaving every cabinet door wide open and all the spices spread throughout the counters/stovetop.

@jocember: My SO does that too! (leaving the cabinet doors open) When we first moved in together it was like living with a poltergeist! Got a total fright until I realised it was him lol

@Scottish_lassie: Bahaha, I should do that sometime to freak him out. He's super afraid of ghosts, I'll tell him that leaving them open attracts poltergeists.

Smacking his lips/slurping. Yeah. If I ever commit murder it will be due to that :)

Not cleaning up after himself. Also in a very close second is saying he is going to do the cat litter but waiting until the last possible second before the trash comes.

Leaving drawers and cabinets open! Every morning I have to shut all the drawers in his dresser and his side of the bathroom!

FI snores and it drives me up the wall.  What's worse is that he's gotten use to me nudging him, so I have to actually try to roll him over before he stops.  It does not make for a good night's sleep.

My FI clears his throat constantly. It's just a habit, not out of necessity.

The guy finds it heel lar e ous to push my buttons. Granted, i have quite a few, but he manages to get them all and then laugh about it. Pinching my butt? Yep. Those god awful sucking air kisses. Lordy. Telling me to get back in the kitchen? dead silence.

I'm so glad my DH does none of the above poll options (at least in annoying, all-the-time, out in public ways).

I love him so so much but I swear on all things holy and unholy that if SO doesn't stop mumbling and using his "morning words" (I.E. grunts and grumbles that are damn-near impossible to decipher) when he is tired or in the morning (not a morning person)...grrr...

I voted other, because to me his most annoying habit is his procrastination. Key example is what is going on now. We're supposed to be going on vacation to Jamaica this May. I told him to book the flights when they were $800 a piece which is a steal since we're flying from western Alberta. Anyway, he said ok and put it off and put it off and put it off. Now the flights are $600 more and yet he still keeps saying to wait it out because the price that has been on the rise steadily for the past 2 weeks, will magically drop again according to him.

While I'm cooking he will stick his fingers in the food and "taste". He ate an entire ice cream bucket of cookie dough one weekend. I was livid. He also  eats jalapenos on everything. Now he's got our granddaughter started on them... He even gave one to the dog....

@Tarheelgurl:  I voted 'other' for the exact same reason.  I've even tried using the work analogy: ie would he put off organising (or be late for) an important meeting?  And if so, what reaction would he expect to get?  It's very frustrating, not least because he can't seem to make the connection!

Blaming his farts on the cat isn't exactly an endearing feature either, but let's stick with the above...

I voted other: Falling asleep while we are sitting on the couch and I am talking to him. It's worse when he pretends to listen and then forgets what I said two minutes later!

@newenglandgirl:  This made me laugh! And does he have to try really hard not to smile when he knows you've found out he's pretending?! I know all about that one too!

He makes a habit of falling asleep on the couch or chair before he goes to bed instead of just going to bed. Often I'll be studying and he'll fall asleep in the living room, then when I'm ready to go to bed I have to wake him up and he is GRUMPY. If I don't he'll sleep for a few hours, then get up, get ready for bed, and then I'll wake up when he comes into bed. We both know you're going to fall asleep, just go to bed!!!

I'm with the 'other' option.... SO glad my husband isn't a burper or a scratcher.... ehem... lol. I can't stand those guys.

My biggest pet peeve is he will leave the laundry in the washer after the cycle and forget about it ... for days at times!!! It happened again today and I have to take time out of my own busy schedule to re-do laundry he said he was taking care of because it now smells like mildew.... ICK. I can't stand it.

That and sometimes he'll come into the bathroom when I'm peeing and go about his business bushing teeth, etc without even asking me if I need privacy... um, hell yes. I can't pee when guys are around.... just my thing ;)

gaming. I hate all the gaming! ugh.

@Tash:  Since when was farting a habit???

maybe she means if your SO does it in an obnoxious way? like, I can fart really quietly (as long as I'm standing still) but sometimes if I'm in a super dorky mood, I'll strike a pose and try to make it as loud as possible.

I was going to say farting, but it amuses me LOL Plus with my burping I'd be a hypocrite.

The most annoying thing for me is my FI's constant need to fix everything. He works in IT and fixes stuff all day. He gets so frustrated when he can't fix other things, like when I'm upset and he can't instantly cheer me up. Or when I'M trying to fix something and he snatches it away from me to do it himself.

I voted other as well. Although I can't decide between his selective cleaning (like some other Bee's have mentioned) and how he folds laundry. I was laughing at him last night when I went to put clothes away - things inside out, crumpled and rolled. Way to 'fold,' darling!

@ukpussycat:  Oh yeah, I get a smile and then he says "I know what you were saying I swear, I just got tired now and can't think". Dude I saw you sleeping! I have tried doing it back to him but he doesn't get it. It drives me crazy.
