Hey Girls,
Is anyone wearing Sottero and Midgley's Elaine?
Do you have any photos of it on you? Since its in the new spring collection I haven't been able to find any photos of actual brides.
Any response would be great.
I just searched for it - it's beautiful! I found this thread with another bee wearing it :)

Thanks so much for your response. Will check out the thread :)
I guess I'm just getting anxious!
@Blush.Champagne: Is this your dress?
This is my dress and I haven't seen any other bride with this dress either!!
If you have pics please post them! I am dying to see the dress on someone else :)
@whitewater8: YES! It is my dress and like you I was hoping to see other real brides with it on. I ordered it so long ago that I'm getting anxious and forgetting what it felt/looked like on. The good news is it came in yesterday so I will be going for a fitting next week and will post photos :)
I am the same way. I can't remember what it feels/looks like or even what the back looks like (I forgot to take pictures of the back.) I feel like I have dress regret sometimes when I look at me in it.
Could you possibly take a picture of the back and post it as well? :)
Have fun at your fitting and can't wait to see what you look like in her!
@whitewater8: I didn't like the model at all... so every time I showed it to my parents or whoever I was like wow I don't really like how it looks on her... so that made me anxious. My appointment is for tomorrow. I will take pictures and No way, I saw your photo of it and you look great! Your waist looks tiny!
Can't wait to see more photos of girls in this dress! I tried this dress on and really liked it... I am taking my mom back to see me in it. Its definitely a front-runner! And the way it bustles is a dream, looks so natural and perfect!
whitewater8: you look amazing in the elaine! I love the way it makes your waist look so tiny!! The sample I tried on was huge on me, they couldn't nip my waist in the way it should have been... I was worried that would be a problem, but then I saw it on you and knew it would look perfect!
@PeachSnapple: @Blush.Champagne: Thank you!!! :)
Take pictures when you go back if you can! I want to see others in this dress!
Mine doesn't come in until November so I have to wait until then :(
Yayyyyy to finally finding dress buddies, I'm glad I'm no longer alone anymore and have dress buddies.
I'm uploading it from my phone that may why. I can send it to your email if you would like... They are iPhone photos
How did it feel to have it on? Any dress regret or happy with it? And are you going to make any changes to it (change to a sweetheart neckline change beading/bling etc.)
Hey girls,
here is a picture in case any other brides still want to see what it looks like on.

Does anyone have a very close up (and clear) picture of the embelishment on the top and waist?
@nadz265: I do at home. They aren't super clear though because there was a glare from the camera. I'll post them when I am home.
@carlytort716: do you have any pictures of yourself in the dress? blush.champagne and have only seen each other in the dress and no one else.
ongtats on being a dress twin with us! :)
Hi Ladies, this is my dress and I am wearing it in just over four weeks!! I may be the first to wear it as I cant see any other brides wearing her anywhere. I have my first fitting tomorrow and then another in two weeks and then that's it!
I must admit im nervous as I loved it at first and have gone back and forth over whether it's not classic enough etc but I do love it and cant wait for it to fit me properly as that should make a huge difference. It's hopefully going to be much lighter on my hips once it fits and I will have it made much shorter as there is too much material at present. Roll on two weeks so I can see the finished result!!
@sarasara: Ooo exciting! Post pictures after your fitting! I am anxious to see this dress on others!
I went back an forth as well, but it is a beautiful dress and as long as you feel confident and beautiful then that's all that matters! :)
The fitting went well, it's a lovely dress and now I know that it's going to be properly fitted to my hips I am very happy. It's a little loose for my liking at the moment so I am happy to share photos in a couple of weeks after I have seen the finished product. It's a good choice, my friend loved it and so do i, it's a very classy dress which is what I wanted. I have silver sparkly shoes (kitten heel) they are very special...only problem is that you cant see them!!
Hey ladies!
These are my shoes and I love love love them :) I felt like a princess with the shoes and dress!

ETA: In real life they are not blush... they are more silvery.
Hi ladies, just an update, I had my second fitting last night and the dress fits perfectly, the only problem is that I had back fat. I know some people are okay with this but I am a slim person was really upset about it. You literally give up your life to arrange a wedding and then the ladies in the shop expect you to accept such a devastating problem and just shrug their shoulders. I didn't accept it and now with two weeks to go, I am having sleeve/straps made for the dress. Not ideal but fingers crossed it works out. they are thick enough to cover a percentage of the fat at least. I am going back next thursday to see if it makes a difference. I really hope it does. The dress will look completely different now so I will have to change my hairstyle and sadly the cake topper has the old dress on it :(
Will let you know how it goes. I know this is kind of a depressing post but perhaps if it looks okay with straps, it may give other people options if they come accross the same problem as me.
@sarasara: I am sure you will look gorgeous with the staps! And on the day off you won't even worry what your back looks like.
Do you have any pictures from your fitting to put up?
Hi I am sorry but I dont have any pictures of it - didn't want to remember what it looked like last night. I will try and post when I see it next week
Thank you for your note, I will let you know how it goes!
@sarasara: oh I think it will look great! Are you doing an organza sleeve or what are you thinking?
Hi girls!
The Elaine will be my dress next fall. I am really excited to see it in my size (I tried on a 10 (can't belive it fit!) but ordered a 16). I love love love it and can't believe how small it makes my waist look. I never thought a fit and flare would be appropriate for a size 16!
I am sometimes having dress doubt too, I think it it because it is not the "classic wedding dress" that you picture in your mind and also because it is a newer style so I haven't seen a lot of brides in anything like it. But I know this dress is meant to be for me.
I am thinking about getting the neckline made into a sweetheart. I think another girl is having this done too... please please please post pictures of before and after, I would LOVE to see them!
Are you girls wearing necklaces and veils? I am torn right now, not sure if it will be too much with the embellishment at the top.
Can't wait to hear from you all and see more pictures!

Any updates on these dresses ladies?
@Blush.Champagne: Updates on your dress since you have had it altered?!
@whitewater8: Hey! I actually didn't need any alterations besides a bustle. I don't know if I will be wearing it though because for family reasons we have opted to have a very intimate wedding. I'm currently looking at other options.
Hi Ladies well my wedding was two weeks ago and I was so happy with the dress. See for yourselves, I will attach a pic
@sarasara: You look amazing!!! Just stunning! Congrats :)
Thanks for sharing your pictures.
@sarasara: Wow you look GORGEOUS! Did you add a skirt or crinoline? The skirt looks so beautiful and full.
Thanks ladies. I have a zillion pics but these show the full dress. I didn't add anything to it, but kept it bustled for most of the day. I found bustling on the outside kept the dress looking fuller. I would recommend having two or three buttons and bustles under there for everytime someone stands on you and it comes away. It's bound to happen and such a good idea to have a spare!! I didn't go with the straps as you can see, i just wore a veil with it. Amd put a sheet panel of organza put in at the back to help with the fat issue! I got so many compliments on the dress but I think my worries were valid and it's hard not seeing it on anyone else beforehand so I hope that this helps you with your worries too.
It was certainly a fun dress and great for spinning! Our photos are on Chris Powell photography.com under Sara and Elliot if you want to take a look at other pics from the back etc.
Good with with your weddings x

I had to alter my dress. I moved the top embelishment onto a jacket and I also had to wear a scarf. I know it's VERY different but it's my own style lol just so you get an idea of a lebanese muslim bride would look in a wedding gown lol.
Gorgeous!!! I love what you did to it to make it your own.
Do you have any more pictures? I would love to see it front on (I'm jealous of your belt!)
I removed the top embellishment and order extra material and made a jacket. And I uploaded the belt i used. I don't know the name brand but it was from the same store I bought my dress from. I also wore more crinelan underneath. Thank you for the compliment! I hope your dress and day turns out amazing!
