My favorite is cheesy potato but I have yet found a recipe that I love or could master. Chicken tortilla sounds wonderful! I'm also a big vegetable stew fan. Boring yes I know.
I have a chicken tortilla soup I really like, but since I have been pregnant I can't get enough of baked potato soup (MMMMMM)
My favourites are..
My favorite is white bean chicken chilli or minestrone.
I love chicken and sweet corn soup. My favourite! That or a good, creamy, pumpkin & nutmeg.
My favorite is homemade chicken noddle soup!!! I have to get my fix alot !!! lol
My mother made it even better then I can, and I make it great. Though since Im a pepper fiend I put alot of pepper in so my FI cant stand it the hotness, but Im learning to put less in. Its hard though. I LOVE pepper!!!
@Earlybride: I feel you on the spicy food. I LOVE spicy food, perhaps too much. Once I was searching for some chipotles for fajitas, and the store was out. DH said "Oh, you mean we will actually be able to taste the food tonight?" Ouch! :-)
OH MAN and I LOVE potato soup. I haven't had it in years, but I'm totally going to make a whole load of it next winter.
Loaded baked potato soup, vegetable beef soup, and chicken tortilla soup are mainstays in our house. And chili.... mmmmm chili
@lovekiss: You wrote my post ;-) All 4 are the top contenders at our house.
OP- Another thing we do is make a huge pot of turkey gravy (homemade gravy with chunks of yesterday's turkey in it). Whip up some bisquick biscuits and pour it over the top. Mmm.
mmm so good ole Pho with all the fixings.
Or a chicken and dumpling (since she is alredy covering veggie and seafood)
I love cheddar brocolli, carrot ginger, and of course, chicken dumpling.
DH makes soups every week- and they are always different- they don't really have names. One I really like is vegetable and bean and barley with a slight vinegar taste.
@cbee: Do you have a good recipe for carrot ginger? I'd love it if you do!
@Lindsay12.31.2010: Super cheap and easy, too! My mom always makes it, but it's generally all the stuff you already have in the house (the turkey, the juice, water, cornstarch (whatever else she puts it, I'm so not a cook)). Bisquick is super cheap and just takes water. And you can freeze it into smaller ziploc bags so you can spread it out rather than having a turkey overload the week or two after Thanksgiving.
I always love a good broccoli cheddar soup or chicken tortilla soup!
Just so you know, I am totally starving now and craving baked potato soup - in the middle of summer. ;)
Loaded baked potato soup!!!! Now I am going to have to have my dad make some HE makes it the BEST!

For the day after Thanksgiving, my mom's having a "soup buffet" dinner. She's making a butternut squash soup and a seafood gumbo. I volunteered to bring the 3rd soup.
What are your favorite soups? I was thinking chicken enchalida soup, but I haven't decided yet.
