There are a few SD Brides around. I'm waiting yet, but hoping to join the ranks. ;)
We did have a thread going, but it seems pretty difficult to keep momentum in the SD threads.
I'm married, but I'm still here. :) From Nebraska originally, but moved to South Dakota to be with my husband.
Great to meet you guys! aquawater, you said you hope to join the ranks? That must mean you haven't gotten the ring yet. Don't worry, it took 5 years for me to get mine. How long you been waiting?
farmgirl2106, congrats on your's. I've got about 2 1/2 months left and my head is starting to spin. How was your big day?
I'm a South Dakota bride!!! I'm currently stuck in Washington state because the boy is in the Navy. But my family lives near Rapid City so that's where I plan on getting married.
OMG! I have friends who're in Washington because of the Navy. They're both from South Dakota! And Rapid has some beautiful places to get married. How are the plans coming?
It was perfect actually. We had an outdoor ceremony at a hunting lodge in central South Dakota in July. Not too hot, blue skies, green grass, just beautiful!

I've been waiting for about a year now. I feel kind of silly, because we've only been together for 1 year, 8 months. I blame it on my SO though; he shouldn't have brought it up first and in the first place if he was going to wait, haha.
@farmgirl2106: Ooh! I'd love to see some photos from your wedding. It sounds gorgeous!
@futuremrskoch: & @kelsgurl: You two are getting close to your dates! Is the planning going well, or is stress starting to build up? Also, how have you found anything as far as vendors? I've been looking, but there only seems to be the same few vendors.
@aquawater: You sound like you are in the same situation I was. When we had been going out for less than 6 mo my husband asked me what I would say if he asked me to marry him. He continued this for 4 years before he asked me for real. It was hard to wait so long, but now I am glad he waited and didn't fall to the pressure of his friend. Just remember to keep positive. It will happen.
Hey! I am still around too! Good to see some activity on here. Got married in August on the Missouri in Central SD. :)
HOT day (110 degrees)! But beautiful, and we recovered in the A/C at the resort. Doing recaps every once in a while on wedding Wednesday. I blog here: dakotatransplant.com
I love seeing this board up and running. We got married last August, over 8 months ago holy cow, in northeast SD. Right now we're in Wyoming due to DH job but hoping to move back soon if we can swing the jobs
Happy Easter, ladies! Will any of you be traveling in the SD area over the holiday weekend?
@aquawater: Oh I post them occasionally. Maybe I'll just have to do a selfish me post even though it was almost a year ago already!
@kelsgurl: Hmm, no traveling today, but the husband and I went to Watertown yesterday to go to the Terry Redlin museum. And it is so nice that it might actually stay warm now!!
It was the first gorgeous night in such a long time! I hope everyone got to enjoy the weather...

My best friend's wedding was yesterday, and despite the South Dakota wind and rain, it was a lovely wedding! I hope that futuremrskoch and kelsgurl get much better weather than the rain though!

@Ireland: Wow, what gorgeous details! And the church is so pretty with that stained glass! What dress did you wear?
Also, I just graduated from college and will be taking a job in Hutchinson county, and I'm super excited! It'll be a bit of a shift from Sioux Falls though, haha.

I graduated from Augie; I really liked it there but I'm super glad that I'm done. :)
