While reading the thread about fellow Towers brides to FH, when he heard South Ferry Church he perked right up and said “Oh My God that place is Beautiful!!” Well, then you know I HAD to see what THIS was all about! I immediately googled SFC and in about .10 seconds fell in love!!! We were originally planning to have our ceremony and reception at The Towers, but on Thursday we officially booked the South Ferry Church!!
Of course, this creates a few more needs (translation: expenses) and a few logisitcal issues.
In any event, I’m super excited about this new element in our wedding! We both wanted ceremony that included a more spriitual feel than just 10 minutes with a Justice of the Peace. This will give us a more spiritual forum as well!
Thank you ladies and thank you Wedding Bee!

Yay Congrats!! I found it by accident too and so so glad I did! The church is gorgeous and such a nice backdrop for an intimate ceremony. When I say the name of the church to others, alot of people don’t know what I am talking about but they will be pleasantly surprised. 🙂

Aww, this is awesome! It makes me happy to think how these boards can help people plan their special day. South Ferry is SO beautiful and we also felt very lucky to stumble up on it (after having all the local Catholic churches refuse to host us because we’re from out of town; works out better for us because now we can have the ceremony we want to have instead of having it dictated to us). It’s a beautiful combo with the Towers and I think we’re all so lucky to have such beautiful venues!
Thinking of all you Bees back East (we’re in Cali) and hoping that you, your families, and our venues stay safe from Irene! : )

@Bostongrl25: I did have to call her a few times. Her cell phone is on the website. I’m sure she’s been busy preparing for and dealing with Hurricane Irene over the past several days. The first time I reached her she didn’t have her calendar with her but I called her back twice and caught her on the second try. Good luck!!!
