I just recently got engaged and the FI and I are now beginning the venue search.
Initially we thought we were going to have a 100 person guest list, tops. But after adding up the numbers (we both come from big families) our guest list is bursting at the seems with over 150 guests!
That being said, we are estimating that only 150 at most will show. The problem is trying to find a reception venue (we are having the ceremony at a church) that will be a reasonable price for 150 people.
Our budget is $30,000. We are looking for venues in the Palm Beach, Boca, Ft. Lauderdale, and Miami area. Ideally, we would like the reception, somewhere with a terrace near the water, but somehow I don’t think that our budget will allow that. 🙁
Ideally, a package wouldn’t be over $100 per person, but I don’t know very much about wedding planning so maybe that is not correct.
Of you have any suggestions of venues to help this stressed out bride, please let me know!
Our wedding will be in January of 2014!

Ooh! Either the lakeside terrace in Boca Raton (http://www.lakesideterrace.com/weddings.htm) or the Spanish River Library (terrace right by the lake) would probably be PERFECT for you!

The Ancient Monastery located in Miami Beach is gorgeous and their chapel holds 150 guests. It’s not on the water, but it’s unique and amazing.

@Miss_Librarian: This is an absolutely GORGEOUS venue! I just got married here (3-1-13) and it will actually be featured on TLC’s Four Weddings on March 29th. If you’re looking at this venue def check it out. I did a DIY theme that played up the library venue but really you can customize it to whatever you want!
