@Boxerlover24:  My only concern would be rain: it pops up at a moments notice, no matter what the forecast calls for. Just make sure whatever venue you choose has an in door option 🙂

The weather here is usually still in the 80’s in November. The water is very shallow so it is usually warm. I go to the beach in January. With hurricane season you just never know. September is considered peak for hurricane season. Hurricane Wilma came through in October. You would have to do it at the beginning of October because of Fantasy Fest or you will never get rooms. They are booked a year in advanced. Fantasy Fest is Mardi Gras Key West style And last for 10 days. November does start peak season for the snow birds though. We got married in June but we take our cruises in May to avoid hurricane season. Make sure you have an indoor rain plan  There are so many beautiful places to get married down here. Check the events page on http://www.fla-keys.com to see what events are going on during each month. The speed boats races are somewhere in the beginning of the month Of November. And even though the NASCAR race is in Homestead the keys including key west get filled up and the rates are high. My suggestion is call around to the venues you are considering and the hotels. They will be able to help you. Don’t dismiss the upper keys venues as well In case something is going on in Key West During the timeframe you have chosen. There are beautiful places there too. Keep your options open. We actually had a ceremony down here with a few friends and had the reception in Satellite Beach so our family in Orlando didn’t have to travel so far. Then we spent our honeymoon back here at the Casa Marina. We had a full catered dinner at a city owned club house on the beach with a fire knife/hula show. Five hours of entertainment and it only cost us $5k. It was so much fun. Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been too. We wanted to have the reception in Key West but I know we would have spent a lot more money and we were concerned about our family having to travel. We felt the money was much better spent paying off our house. It was very beautiful and the entertainment we provided for ourselves and our guest was  fantastic. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

As previously mentioned our weather pattern are very unpredictable. September is very prone to raining. Our typical weather pattern is hot muggy sunny day and late afternoon storm to lead back to muggy nights. September is considered peak of Hurricane season. The problem isn’t just if a storm hits, the problem is we get hit with the outer bands several times during the season. Just this weekend we have Dorie in the tropics and we are expecting the rays to begin hitting us Sunday night. October the weather begins to change. You can go to the beach but the water temperature is usually cold and not very comfortable unless your a snow bird. November less probability of rains still we do have more cloudy days less likely of rain and the beaches are cold.

Overall there really is no way to predict you may have beautiful sunny days for a whole week and then storms and afternoon showers the next day.

I would not have a summer wedding down here (September is still summer for us). Not only are the chances of rain too high, but you will sweat your butt off. Since it’s going to be a destination wedding, you and your guests will enjoy the whole trip a lot more in November when it’s more temperate. The closer to winter the better! And I don’t think the ocean would be too cold; however, I’m not much of a beach person, so trust your other sources. Good luck!

Fantasy Fest is going on in Key West in late October. If you are even able to find a hotel it will be wicked expensive.
