I need help deciding! My FI and I visited a venue in South Jersey near the shore today and absolutely fell in love! We put a hold on a mid August date, but really had our hearts set on a fall wedding. Unfortunately, no more dates are available in September and October. They did have a mid November date, which also falls under their winter package. We would save a lot of money that way where we could put elsewhere (better DJ, better gifts for our weddng party and parents, etc). My future mother-in-law isn’t super pleased and does not like the idea of having a wedding “in the cold.”
Has anyone had a November wedding, in particular in South Jersey near the shore, and can weigh in? Is it worth saving a few thousand to chance it on November? I am so torn!

SJ born and raised! It’s really so iffy, three years ago we had snow on the night before Halloween, the year before that was a huge storm that same weekend. Meanwhile, last year I went to a wedding in SJ on Nov 2nd and it was absolutely beautiful weather!! Wedding was outside, and short dresses were fine for guests.
One thing to think about as well, is how dark it gets early in Nov, especially past daylight savings time. Don’t forget that for pictures when setting the times!

Jersey gal here too—My aunt’s wedding was in November and yes, it was quite cold outside. It’s a bit worse when you’re right near the ocean though. The venue put out heaters around the chairs and we were fine. I’d say the earliest in November the better. There’s still foliage too!
