My friend is getting married at a great place in southern MA that would be perfect for you, it's like a barn/Inn type deal and of course I can't remember the name of it but it's south of Boston. However, I'm a RI bride and can reccommend a place called Eden Mannor in Wakefield, RI. It's a victorian mannor turned B&B on 5 acres of land (including a lot of open space) about 15 minutes drive from the beach. The B&B sleeps 30 people in 14 rooms if you have OOT guests and all of the rooms are unique. You can rent the place for the weekend and have use of the grounds. The indoor dining room would not accomodate a large wedding but you could do a lovely outdoor ceremony/reception with or without a tent. We took the tou and stuff and are considering this place for our guests and as a rehersal dinner site becasue we wanted an indoor reception. If you are looking for more formal and have a large budget you will find several venues in Newport (where Mrs. Corn got married) which is a nice place for OOT guests but venue rental fees are high. We are having our reception indoors on the beach in Narraganset but the max is 100 people, I can give you more details if this sounds interesting.
I am getting married in RI and am the MOH in my sisters Southeastern MA wedding so I have looked at quite a few wedding venues in the area. What are you looking for? A beach, hotel venue, mansion, farm, etc?
Newport RI is great for destination brides (thats part of our reason for having it there), they are mostly on the high end, but the Atlantic beach Club in Middletwon is a great option for someone on more of a budget. It is right on the beach and teh Newport line.
In Southeastern MA I like Lakeview Pavilion and Sapphire Estate. I know of more if you narrow down what your looking for :)
My cousin was married at the Barker Tavern in Scituate (<span class="a">www.barkertavern.com) . I've also been to a wedding at Rafael's in Walpole (http://www.raffaels.com) Lakeview is also gorgeous.
Good luck! Check out the Boston board for more Boston area brides.
I wish I could help you--in many ways, I'm looking for the same thing, though within an hour or so of Boston only. I personally would LOVE to find a spot that we could do everything for the weekend (aka have the rehearsal dinner, have some guests or our wedding party stay AND have the whole wedding at). We've had a lot of trouble finding somewhere like that (besides the basic hotels, which is not at all what we're after). Something similar to the B&B someone mentioned above, just closer to Boston... any ideas anyone?
We're currently thinking of getting married at a place that's not in southeastern MA but actually about half an hour west (and a tiny bit north) of Boston. It's a big house that has room for a tent out front, has a couple acres with big fields and has gorgeous trees and a small pond on it. It's less manicured than a lot of places we've looked at with similar descriptions. If you're interested in it, please let me know and I'd be glad to tell you the name (I'm not sure if it's in the wrong direction for you as it isn't quite what you asked for!).

Also - I wish we could switch places! I would LOVE to get married on the west coast but it was nixed as most of our guests/family lives on the east coast. If we already lived out there (we're planning on moving there in a few years) though, I think we could have the wedding there.. oh well!
Thanks - I'm not really into the beach idea. Something more on the farm side, but not necessarily a farm,by any means.
The Milton Hoosic is nice. It is very deceiving. Small on the outside, but has a grogeous ball room with high ceilings. I highly reccommend it! Just South of Boston.
The Newport,RI area has a couple of nice vineyards. We actually looked at Newport Vineyards for our rehearsal dinner, but I know they also do weddings. They have a permanent tent set up, plus you obviously have free range of the vineyards. Wine is good too! http://www.newportvineyards.com/
How about the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. http://www.wayside.org/weddings . There is a really cute chapel and many options for your reception (tent or in one of their function rooms). The grounds are beautiful in the summer and as an added bonus the food is quite good.

Hi Bees,
I'm looking for reccommendations for wedding venues in Southeastern MA and RI. We're looking to do our ceremony and reception at the same location. WE're looking for something rustic-ish-outdoorsy-naturey.
We have a few options right now (we live on the West coast and have been doing tons of research). I've googled the subject to death. But, I figured I would ask around here - you're all such a wealth of knowledge!
