    Hi Bees-

My fiancee and I booked our honeymoon as a cruise in the southern caribbean in the beginning of June.  Does anyone have any experience with cruises (neither of us have been on one before) and/or what we can expect weather wise at that time?  I know that it is not the ideal time to take a cruise to the caribbean, but it is literally the only week we both can do it.

We are taking Royal Caribbean - Serenade of the Seas

I took a Southern Caribbean cruise last year in June and it was awesome!

Some islands will be blistering hot and expect a lot of humidity, but you're going to have amazing beach weather. What islands are you going to?? You're going to have a great time...

We're starting off in Puerto Rico (San Juan) and we're going to Barbados, St. Croix, Antigua...I forget the rest.  Thanks for the input!!!  I'm hoping the heat won't take away from the fun.  What cruise line did you take?

I live in Florida and have been on two carnival cruises and one Royal Caribean.  I would suggest looking at cruisecritic.com.  They have boards very similar to WB and they are really helpful for first time cruisers.

June will be hot in the Carribean. So make sure to take sunscreen! It really will ruin a vacation if you get burned.   I think RCCL (Royal Carribean Cruise Line) allows 1 bottle of wine per stateroom but you can sneak lots more on that that if you want to drink.  That is where the cruise ships make a lot of their money.  Also, look into booking your own excusions outside of the cruiseline.  Usually you can book with the same tour groups but just not pay the outrageous prices to the cruise line to organize it for you.

    Have fun!

I took Carnival and left from San Juan. If you have time to do a rain forest tour in San Juan you should, it was really neat!! Antigua has nice beaches, Barbados has great sea turtle swims and ship wrecks to snorkel over. I haven't been to St. Croix! I second the recommendation on Cruise Critic.. YOu'll be able to read reviews from people who have just been on your same ship/itinerary!
