Add more time. Our reception package comes with five hours from start of ceremony to end of reception. We are adding an extra hour.

@mrs_love:  My BIL & SIL got married there in 2011, and they did a 3 hour reception. Theirs was an afternoon reception though, so 3 hours felt like enough. I was a bridesmaid so I was with them for the picture taking, but the reception didn’t feel rushed, especially since people weren’t really drinking and/or dancing. However, if you’re doing an evening reception I think I’d add the extra hour just to have more time to dance and party. It’s a beautiful venue by the way!

the 3 hour does not feel rushed at all!!! I was married there in September and it was fantastic!!! you also dont HAVE to have the 15 minute dinner…my husband and i sat down for maybe ten minutes and we were done bc we wanted to get out there and be with our guests. also, if you want food afterwards, just tell your attendant and they will bring anything straight to you. so you dont need to sit at a specified table to eat.

Add the extra hour.  Most receptions are 5 hours, including cocktail hour.  Three will go by waaaay too quickly.  My brother just got married in New Orleans in October (not at SOP though).  His reception was similarly short and you could tell!  I barely got a chance to eat anything and only danced to one song.  Definitely definitely add the extra hour!!  You won’t regret it!
