- Wedding: September 2014
Newly engaged and we are desperately searching around for the perfect wedding venue. We have a very strict budget of $10,000 all in (venue, bar, attire, decorations, flowers, etc) and are trying to find a place that is still available. We are having 70-90 people. We live in Toronto (Scarborough) but most of our families are in Kitchener, Niagara Falls, and Cambridge areas…. so we are willing to travel up to 1.5 hours away(ish).
We are looking for something rustic (winery, brewery, barn, conservation area, heritage and historical sites, etc) and that WE ARE THE ONLY WEDDING/EVENT THERE THAT DAY. That is very important to us.
We don’t mind having to find a caterer (any suggestions?) and bringing our own wine (personal labels) is preferred.
Places we have looked at: Luna Project, Halton Museum, Cambridge Mill, Toronto Botanical Gardens, Argonaut Rowing Club, Balls Falls, Ancaster Mill, Cambium Farms, Fantasy Farms, Black Creek Pioneer Village, Grist Mill, Steckles Heritage Farm, Ancaster Old Town Hall, Granite Brewery, Kurtz Orchard, The Doctor’s House, Estates of Sunnybrook, David Springer House, Miller Lash House… and a few more.
We are looking around now for some “hidden gems” that might have been missed in our hours of magazine flipping, internet searches, and countless emails. We are looking around too for places for Sunday Brunch, or Satruday dinner…
Any suggestions or advice is most appreciated! Thank you!
