Our little guy has had cancer since March and has been a little trooper all these months. In March the vet said he had about 2 weeks left, 8 months later he’s still here, but he’s ready to go. We’re taking him in tonight and bringing him home to burry the little hairball. I’m going to be bawling all night.
Here’s to you little Ollie. We love you.

I’m so sorry! Losing a pet is like losing a member of your family. It’s so hard. I’m sure he had a very good life with you, and that’s what you should try to focus on to ease the pain a little.

I’m so sorry, I had to do the same thing to my dog on Christmas Eve a couple years back because of a brain tumor he had that was causing him to have a ton of seizures and a lot of pain…he was only 4. I completely understand how you feel and I am so very sorry for you…HUGE HUGS!

I am so sorry. Hugs to you and to Ollie. Being able to know when to let them go, is one of the kindest things you can do for an animal.
Maybe before you take him in, get one of those pottery “hand print” sets and make casts of his paw prints. You can use that and his photos as a remembrance of him.
Saying goodbye is never easy.

I’m so sorry. It’s going to hurt like hell to let him go buy he won’t hurt anymore. I had to put my baby to sleep a week before my birthday. They put her to sleep while I held her. I found out about her cancer in May and put her to sleep in October. I’m not sure if this is an option for you but I had her creamated so I’ll always have her with me. This is going to be a painful time but just remember the memories you had with him and make a little photo album.
This is our last picture together. =(

Thanks girls. All the kind words help. Ollie is being spoiled rotten today. He’s getting so much attention and all the Thanksgiving turkey he can eat (he may be sick and dying, but the cat still eats turkey like its going out of style).

I got so upset when my cat got put to sleep I went into a panic attack. Don’t feel bad if you have to leave… it’s rough.
I’m so sorry =(

I am so sorry! You brought tears to my eyes just reading this. Your little fuzzybutt will be in a much better place though and won’t be in any pain. It doesn’t make it any easier on those he’s leaving behind though. It’s going to be hard for a while and my thoughts are with you!
