Yeah I'd say they just walk alone. Nothing wrong with it. I've been to a couple weddings where that happened.
My bridesmaids processed one by one into the ceremony and recessed out of the ceremony escorted by the groomsmen. So it's not uncommon for bridesmaids to walk alone both in the processional or recessional. It's great for pictures anyway.
My bridesmaid walked in alone because the BM was husband's dad so he escorted his wife and mother to their seats and then stood at the front. You could have the BM walk with one bridesmaid on each arm if you want them to be escorted.
My girls are going to walk in alone! I thought that was a pretty common practice :) They will end up walking out alone too b/c we will most likely end up with an uneven bridal party!
I'd say the most common practice today is for BM's to walk down alone and then walk back with the GM's. In situations like yours, the Best Man can escort 1 BM on each arm :-) I'm sure he won't mind :-)

I have 2 bridesmaids & he has a BM.... I've only been to one wedding before - no joke. I used to avoid them like the plague lol.. I haven't got a chance to ask my wedding coordinator this question, so I figured I'd ask the bees :)
