So I’m hispanic but I don’t know how to dance. At all my family weddings/parties there is always dancing but I just never learned how to. I don’t want to be a wallflower on my wedding!!! Its really bad, I can only dance to lady gaga and silly club music. Yes, I’m ashamed.
My “gringo” fiance is actually better dancer than me… it’s that bad! Tell me, bees. Is it embarrasing for a latina to take dancing lessons?

I am a puerto rican born and raised in the US and i love to dance. My now hsband was born and raised in Puerto Rico and does not dance at all. He is horrible lol. It is not embarrasing for a latina to take dance lessons. Actually that is great that you want ot learn. I wish mine would do that. Even though he tried his hardest to dance at our wedding and everyone was rooting for him i still believe he should take on lessons. So mamita go for it 🙂

I’d go for it. I’m a bad dancer too and feel embarressed. I do okay if I am drunk lol. I’m Puerto Rican and every Thanksgiving this happens. I try to sit and enjoy beer but they always try to get me to dance.

I’m Mexican, but born and raised in a US border town. I’m also a horrible dancer! A while back I had a house party and my friends put on some salsa music, all of them were great dancers! They tried to teach me, but then gave up when they realized there was no hope for me!

@Mrs Christopher: That is so me! They try to get me to dance and I have no rythym at all!
@lybarra: That’s the worst! When everyone is up and dancing, expecting you to join them. My cousins have tried to teach me as well, it is so difficult for me, I just look awkward.

I’m Latina and I love to dance. My Latino husband, uh, not so much! We took dance lessons together and it was a lot of fun! 🙂 Go for it.

I’m white and I love latin dance! My latino SO on the other hand is an AWFUL dancer. I’ve taken lessons at some of the best schools in our city and I’m a zumba nut ;).
Take lessons! It’s easier than you think!

My fiance is Dominican and does a pretty smooth bachata, but other than that he is clueless. I took professional ballroom dancing lessons when I was younger so I taught him how to salsa, etc. Dancing has always brought us together and he really wants to dance with me at our wedding, so we might have to take some lessons.
The funny thing is, his much older uncle is a professional latin dancer (he performs in NYC all of the time) but his uncle is very jealous of his younger nephews and would never really teach them how to dance for fear that they would one-up him around the ladies. His uncle has even asked me to dance in front of my Fiance and done a lot of tricks to show off.. lol! Looks-wise my Fiance has him beat by a mile so I say we just give him that, however my Fiance gets really pissed over it.. haha!
