Why not send the same English invitation to everyone and then add a Spanish insert (maybe designed in the traditional/typical Puerto Rican style) for those who don't know a lot of English? This way they get to appreciate your main invitation and understand the important information.

I think making them in Spanish & English would be a cool way to showcase both of your cultures on the invitation.
I would love to see a bilingual invitation in the mail! Even if I didn't understand the 2nd language, I think it'd be a nice touch.
I like either suggestion. I think it would be fun for some of your English speaking friends who have an interest in Spanish to look through a bilingual invite, but designing an entirely Spanish invitation would be fun and you could just insert it into the invites that you think would need it.
I've gotten a bilingual invitation before and I thought it was super fun and sweet. It was English/Chinese (not than I could even remotely read the Chinese!) and I thought it was a great way to show off their cultures. Not to mention, it will probably be cheaper for you to print one invite design as opposed to two.
thanks for the input girls!! im still undecided bout which to do tho! haha...i added a poll :-)
I like bilingual. Here is a link from a friend's wedding that was featured on Style me Pretty. Peep the invite:

My family is Puerto Rican....my bio-dad's side hardly speaks any English at all....the majority of my mother's side is bilingual and only a few on my stepdad's side dont speak English....i'm pretty sure they would get the hint and basic information from an english invite....
however... do yous think I should do invites/STDs that have both spanish and english on them? (like you know, english with the spanish translation in smaller font underneath)
or... should i just sort out the guests who only speak spanish and make serparate spanish invites/STDs for them only??
and one more question, should i just send save the dates to only out of town guests to save on cost??
p.s. both invitations and save the dates are going to be DIY projects....and i have to send stds asap since we just pushed the wedding up to this year...
