WHichever one you get you need to buy the expensive one on a hanger. DOn't get the ones in the package.
I got ones that are a strapless bodysuit with these special straps that loop around your bra to hold the spanx up. I like it.
Mine are Spanx brand, the kind on a hanger, and I bought them at Nordstroms. I've also ordered other ones from their website. Pay attention to sizing. I imagined I would need an XL and I needed an L.
@Shoppingdixie: Good heads up.. I've bought ones in a bag before and they are awful and actaulyl hurt...

I haven't bought my Spanx yet (trying to go to the gym first for a few months), however I wanted to let you know that I work at TJ Maxx and we constantly carry Spanx brand and other brands of shapewear for fairly cheap.
I tried on a smooth corset at Davids Bridal underneath my dress and I loved it. It was strapless and went down to my waist. However it was almost $80 and a little expensive for my taste.
I really like the Flexees brand shapers. So far they're the only brand that's helped with smoothing and not completely flattened my butt.
@bestbuddies: Thank you for your suggestions!!! the one that holds on to the bra, i guess i would need to deicde what kind of bra i'm wearing or if i'm going to get some built in.

I find that Flexees roll a lot; for me, Spanx and Assets stay in place much better.

Can anyone give me their expert opinion on what kind of spanks to get? As showin in picture below you can see my belly is poppin out a little at the bottom (need to do more situps apparently) and i need a really great pair of spanks... Advice where you got them and what brand? Are they lightweight and airy???
