I am creating a slideshow (as a surprise for my f) for the guests to view at the rehearsal dinner. (possibly at the reception, as well) I am thinking of starting with photos of his parents and then having photos of his childhood to now with family and friends... Then the same format with my parents, etc. Of course, then the photos of us together over the last 3 years leading up to the wedding day... I still need to think about music and titles, etc.

What are you doing for your slideshow? What is your format, etc.? Any feedback for mine is welcome!Speaking of slideshows... : wedding slideshow reception planning advice diy Icon Wink

Seems a lot of videographers do them for couples. Is anyone else doing their own? If so, how long is it taking? What program are you using? Any song ideas? Thanks!!

OK, this isn't the traditional slideshow, but I saw this when I was looking for some ideas myself on youtube, and it is hilarious.

We ended up doing a regular one.  And used the songs, "Best is Yet to Come" and "You want to make a memory" by Bon Jovi>  Instead of the normal titles we had them begin... Once upon a time...

My slideshow creator (aka bridesmaid's hubby) told me the basic format is 1) pics of gal, 2) pics of guy, then 3) pics together. BUT I want to include pics of friends and family. So I tried to select pics of one or both of us with friends/family. But I'm not sure where to put them? I think it's nice to include guests.

Silverstar- I am going to go with the basic format you mentioned. (But him first, since he's older- we have the same b-day! and I will do a retrospective timeline- birthday 1970 FH was born, birthday 1971 I was born)

I am thinking I will include friends in the "through the years" pics of each of us growing up and together. I think it's important to have the wedding party people in the sildeshow, at least...!

I have to get out that email to the friends and family to start collecting pics and sending to me... 2 months to go, today!

    Hey Girls!

First of all CONGRATUALTIONS!! I just wanted to share my website with you! I do personalized slideshows. I started to do this as my hobby and everyone liked it so much that it became a small business on its own. It is my passion and i am really exited to see where it goes.

I not only do the slideshow where the images go in and out of the screen together with your choice of music but i add personalized backgrounds, animation titles, and special effects...

We just released the website this past Monday and we are giving away 1 free slideshow every monday.

Just go to www.ShockEventsMiami.com, fill out all the required info, let us know your wedding date and give us some feedback about our site. Every Monday, a lucky bride will get a phone call and a free Photo Slideshow on DVD.

Do you have a slideshow for your wedding already? why not use this sweepstake to make a slideshow for the pictures from your honey moon? or your wedding ceremony?

You can win it on Monday but you do not have to use it right away...

oh.. and by the way... I'm getting married too.. its July 25th!! i'm so exited!

I think slideshows are so much fun. Especially for family that lives far away that doesn't get to see you daily and for the grooms family to see the bride as a child and vice versa. We started dating in high school so we are doing his pictures birth up to friends in high school, me birth up to friends in high school, then out journey together the past 6 years including engagment photos and a note to the parents at the end. My friend got married in September and they did theirs so that the note for the parents was at the end and was set the the star wars theme and scrolled up and got larger like the beginning of the star wars movies do... it was neat! Anyway you do it have fun with hubby to be looking through childhood pictures!!! Congrats!
