There's a lavender farm outside of Asheville that does wedding type favors. There are also some good local BBQ places that you could give BBQ sauce from (Mrs.Snow got her BBQ from the same place the Obamas went to when the visited the area).
The BBQ place that the Obamas visited is called 12 Bones. They have awesome sauces and will sell them. Not sure if they would package them as favors for you though.
I've seen brides do honey from a popular local restaurant called Tupelo Honey. They also have wonderful jams.
There are lots of local farms that will make jams for you. Check out the website www.buyappalachian.org to search for farms. You could also check out www.blueridgejams.com.
Thanks for those websites and ideas. We're heading to Asheville next weekend to look for housing...very exciting!

FI was just transferred to Asheville, and I'll be relocating once I find a job in the area. I was thinking that I could use something significant to Asheville for a favor. Any ideas for items and where to buy them? I was thinking about local honey, jam, or apple butter based on my internet research, but I thought I'd ask the natives to see if you had any other ideas!
