I am getting married in 4.5 months, so getting close to being too late to order a dress. I went to 5 different stores today and tried on a gagillion dresses. At every store there was one gown I really liked but wasn't perfect. At Priscilla it was because I would have to alter a ton of it and it was $2650 without the alterations, at this other shop because it made my stomach look a little funny ... I fell in love with this one dress, and now that I look it up it turns out it's a "mother of the bride" dress! They have it available in "natural" which is pretty much an ivory and how I tried it, but I feel weird ordering that dress as a wedding dress!

It's not that cheap either, $1,200 ... now I'm totally second-guessing myself. I guess I was hoping to just find one and love it! I dunno, what do you ladies think? Here are some shots of the dress (none of the images are in the 'natural' unfortunately). Now I feel weird ordering it.

    I say go for it.

I am not sure what "mother of the bride" would be wearing that dress, because to me it clearly looks like a wedding dress!

That's definitely an awesome wedding dress. Put what it's technically called out of your head and order away!

Thanks ladies! I love that off-the shoulder look. At the store I thought it was amazing, but now I'm a bit worried that the pictures aren't that great (granted my mom's camera isn't that great and the lighting isn't either. Here is me in it:

    LOVE IT!

Def. has bride written all over it! Put it this way, if my mom said she was going to buy that, we'd have to have a "sit down talk" about whose wedding this is! lol

WOW! I think that looks totally flattering on you!! So elegant and graceful! How is that a "mother of the bride" dress?!?!?! If you don't feel like it's you then don't get it but from girl to the next I really like it on you :)

I'm a bit sad about not being able to have it in white. I was one of those brides who really wanted white. But it makes all the parts that I don't like so much (little pieces of extra fat here and there) go in their right places ...

Here is the $2700 Priscilla which we would have to fix at the bust area (extra fabric) and pay about $300-500 for alterations and extra fabric.

personally i think the first dress looks better on you and i think you look happier in it. it also appears rather white in the picture but has that extra sheen to it. my dress is ivory but honestly it's such a light ivory that my mom thought it was white until it was placed next to white

Oh the other dress is so much better than the Priscilla dress!  I think even in the platinum color it looks very bridal.  If a MOB wore it, I'd swear she was trying to compete with her daughter for attention!

    Stop second guessing!

The first dress is gorgeous and very bridal. Like others have said, if a MOB (or MOG for that matter) wore that dress I'd raise an eyebrow (and talk behind her back lol). So if you go with that one, don't worry about what it's technically called.

But if I'm being totally honest (and I hate to do this to you), I actually like the 2nd one better. I think it flatters your figure better and gives you the tiniest waist.

On the first dress, the side a-symetrical thing is sticking out and kind of distracting. Gaahh I'm sorry! I just wanted to give you another opinion. Whichever dress you choose, you're going to look amazing :)

awww you girls are so awesome!

The Priscilla dress is awesome looking, but it's just not enough coverage for my DD/D girls. The seamstress was coming up with inventions to fix it, and I think she could do it, but $3k is just much more than I wanted to pay and it's really unclear how it'll look in the end.

If I could have: the top of the first dress and the bottom of the second I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

I love the POB name and really considered one of hers for my wedding (though I fell in love with the Melissa Sweet Sidney more than any POB) but I think the POB dress is really plain and doesn't have that "wow! factor"... for $2700 I just don't know that I could do it.

The first dress... looks soooo good on you. Plus it is cheaper! You look happier in that dress too :)

i love the first one but i just dont think its right for your body type it cuts you off at the worst possible spot. i'm not sure what your height is but you look very small in stature in the first dress.

the second dress wow! you look stunning. tinniest waist! may i ask why you needto add more fabric to the bust...the girls look great! the sides i can see need to be taken in a little so that the girls are "locked and loaded". my honest opinion is to go for the second dress. i dont see much needing changing except for the sides of the boobidge area.

I didn't know MOB dresses have trains... and I think only a MOB who wants to outshine the bride would wear that gown, and people would raise eyebrows!  It totally doesn't look like a MOB dress.  I think I like you in the first dress better.
