So my mom and I were out hittin’ the thrift stores nearby like the big spenders we are, hunting for cooler clothes as these hot temps set in. We were browsing the dresses section for sundresses and I saw a big, white wedding gown. I had to check it out. I already have a dress I LOVE but I just had to see about this other gown for shits and gigs. It turned out to be a Mon Cheri in just my size for only $50.
I looked down at the train and noticed a spot. I went to go inspect this strange spot and discovered it was a dead spider.
Or so I thought.
My mom went to brush the dead body away, it dropped a couple times through the tulle, lowering, lowering until it hit the floor.
AND BEGAN CRAWLING AWAY.
We shivered and left the spidery Mon Cheri on the rack, trailing off to the other racks.
But I couldn’t get it out of my mind. So I went back at the text message urging of my BFF after I told her what I found. My mom and I thoroughly inspected the gown for backup peeps of the spider but found none, so I decided to go try it on for hahas.
Well I got the changing room and among the typical dust bunny crap all over the floor, the mirror was covered in something… I don’t know what. But you’ll see.
I bucked up my courage to enter the dress that was a former spider home and I tried it on.
It was very pretty, but it did not even come close to zipping up, though the construction of the dress was to be admired, and it was very, very dirty. Ultimately, Mon Cheri was left at the store, to remain a nest of spiders until the end of her days.

lol, I love your story. I saw the thread title, and I had to click it (even though it reminds me of that damn song that never gets out of my head…I wear your granddad’s clothes, I look incredible…)
It’s sad that someone’s dress ended up a spider home 🙁 This is why we have decided to do a TTD shoot so that we can get as much use, fun, and memories out of my dress as possible. I don’t want another dust…or spider…collector at home. It will do no good in my closet!

@Omgbunnies: The dress is very very pretty! As for the mirror… That looks like EXACTLY what I think it is *shudder*

@BoxerLady: That’s what I thought I’d do with it, a TTD! I suggested this to my mother and she was horrified. “WHY WOULD YOU EVER DO THAT TO A WEDDING DRESS?!” She’s old school. If it had fit properly with no alterations needed (like, I could actually zip it) I would’ve seriously considered buying it for a TTD shoot.

@Omgbunnies: That mirror is the worst dressing room mirror I have ever seen! lol! Funny story

@Omgbunnies: There’s nothing else to do with it though. At first I suggested to my Fiance that we buy a cheap dress – such as at a thirft shop – for our TTD shoot. And he said, why? Are you saving the real dress for your next weekend? lol. I’m excited for those pictures. We are getting married on the beach and I think the shots will be beautiful.

@BoxerLady: Yeah I dunno what I’ll do with my dress after the wedding. I think I may save it for my future daughter to use someday.

@Omgbunnies: I thought of that, but who knows if I will even have a daughter. Besides, I would never wear my mom’s dress and I’m sure my daughter will feel the same, lol. I just love the pictures too much to give up!
